On the 11th we'll play a friendly against Rapid Vienna, so we can take revenge for the 11 - 0 loss from 38.

Watching Grasshoppers - 96 right now and it kinda proves that you shouldn't broadcast test-games, it's terribly boring.

At least Rausch and Zizzo are playing.

You can see the sunset and the beach right behind the stadium, beautiful.

I'd love to be there right now.

Somehow BILD managed to get a hold of Huszti's contract numbers.

base pay: 34.000 Euro/month

2500 Euro per point

one-time payment after playing 10 games: 20.000 Euro

one-time payment after playing 20 games: 40.000 Euro

6000 Euro for games 20-30

one-time payment after playing 75% of the games: 36.000 Euro

one-time payment after finishing 8th or better: 100.000 Euro

Sorry for the stupid translations but I don't care.

I'm pretty sure Huzsti wants a HUGE raise or he's gone.

Apparently Roma are interested in him, but i'm guessing that's just a dumb rumour.

I'm sure a lot of teams are interested and 96 wouldn't be able to keep up financially with most of them but that's the way it is.

96 drew with St. Pauli yesterday and there were rather unpleasant scenes around the Reeperbahn afterwards which wasn't that surpsring though seeing as Hannover's and Hamburg's hooligans are kinda attached at the hip these days.

This make me feel better *grin*

American clothing brand Under Armour (http://www.underarmour.de/) will provide 96 with jerseys next season.
The Didaora era is over.

I think they have never outfitted an european football team before, should be interesting.

Already like them because they are very involved with hockey.

I didn't know that they made uniforms for any sports. I wonder if this is a first for them?

First European uniforms, first for a big soccer club. They do sponsor their local university soccer team with gear

Borussia Mönchengladbach just bought Thomas Kleine for 300.000€.
Considering that 96 got him for free this is good for us.

I hope he does well for Borussia, he was great for Fürth in the 2, Liga but I'm afraid he was pretty terrible for us and after the Ismael purchase he knew he probably wouldn't get anymore minutes.

I feel kinda sorry for him because he surely must have expected more of his 1. Liga experience but this is how fast and brutal professional football is.
Posters of the German 96 board posted some months ago that he never really seemed to arrive here, he was never joking with the rest of the team in training etc., maybe he's just a very reserves person?
Sometimes it fits, sometimes it doesn't. I'm sure he'll get his confidence back with Gladbach abd maybe he'll be back in the !. Bundesliga next season. Who knows.

Sal Zizzo suffered an ankle injury in U23 training game and will be out for 6 weeks. Sucks, I was hoping he would really make a big impression with the 2nd team after the winter-break and maybe get a few minutes for the first team along the way but this kinda makes that difficult.

Would be awesome because we absolutely need a player like him (even though I'd prefer Schlaudraff or Michael Bradley), especially when Huszti leaves. Still, I doubt we even have 5.000.000€ lying around but it's sure a fun rumour that makes me laugh. :D

Forsell even had his medical already and Buffel was almost signed and look what happenend.
Great that he'd chose us over Arsenal and Liverpoll though. :D

One reason that Hecking might be so keen on signing him could be that Slomka used to praise him a lot when he and Hecking met.
Slomka and Hecking are both very good friends and Slomka's family is still living in Hannover and according to the local papers they meet quite often.

Schalke might have given Hannover permission to talk with him but I can't imagine Özil is dreaming about Hannover, lol.

That's an awesome pic.

Hello, I live in Philadelphia and have not really been a soccer fan all of my life. Last April, I took a trip to Hannover to visit a friend that lives there. He broke his collar bone before I got there, so we weren't able to travel around Europe like we had hoped. Instead, he showed me around much of Hannover and mostly, we watched soccer.

The moment when I became hooked was when we were watching a game between Barca and Getafe. I watched Messi cut up the Getafe defense like Swiss cheese and score one of the goals of the year.

We went to the 96/M'gladbach game and I really enjoyed it. I came home a week later and ordered Fox Soccer Channel and GolTV. The rest is history.

I have been looking through these posts and I am glad to see there are other Hannover fans out there. This is my first post and I look forward to discussing soccer with all of you.

Beware though the Hannover fans here are crazy. I have personal experience too ;)

Welcome. Your choice of clubs I must say is puzzling though (especially the first one ;) )

After I came back from Germany, the Champions League finals were taking place. I watched a couple of Liverpool games and pledged my allegiance. Although, they are struggling in the PL, I have a feeling that they are going to bring home a trophy this year if they let Rafa stick around long enough.

Awesome choice Tarp and welcome to BigSoccer and especially the most awesome thread on BS! :D

At least no one will call you a bandwagoner.

I'm off to the game in a few minutes which I'm afraid means that there is a very big chance that 96 won't win. :(

But, weather is beautifulll, there will be almost 40.000 fans so I'm sure I'll still have a great time.

There is a chance that Zizzo will make the bench if Lauth's leg won't be 100%.
