I was soo happy for Vahih. Let's just hope that this means he finally remembers where the goals is otherwise we'll have to wait another 9 months. ;)

It was also nice to see how happy and relieved he was and celebrated with his team instead of trying to get away from them as far as possible as many players do.

I didn't see the game so I can't really comment but judging from reviews and reports of friends who were in the stadium they were a lot better and battled harder than before.

Some nice big pics:

Am I correct in my translation of an article on the website that the reserves are playing this w/e, and that Zizzo might actually play?

He's beginning to remind me of a pitcher the Red Sox had once, John Henry Johnson. We'd always hear about him, "Johnson's warming up in the bullpen", but it seemed like we never actually got to see him play. The only time I've seen Zizzo play since the u-20's was 15 minutes against Sweden, and he somehow managed to not even touch the ball. :confused:

Not only did he play, he also scored the 1:1.
96 won 2:1. :)

He also scored in friday's test-match of the first team when they won 9:2.

Steve had a pretty good game today. Had a nice run, in which Donovan passed to him. Steve did a nice cut pass back to Dempsey, who nailed it home for a goal. On the Defensive side, he was pretty decent...only being beat individually a couple times. Never backed away from Ronaldhino as well.

Thanks for the update.

US 2:4 Brazil.......a very flattering result for Brazil. I am not one to blame the ref for mistakes, but there were quite a few bad calls. Exciting game. The US was working the tighter spaces much better and finally stepping up and taking shots from outside the box. We still have those bad marking skills on set plays and some lapses in defensive judgment

I'll bet you are!

It has more to do with Hanover's history of incompetence and less with Nuremberg's fantastic star ensemble, though.

I know that we are not supposed to do advertise other forums, but I think it can hardly be seen as a real alternative to BigSoccer:
The H96 forum has had a major redone, check it out by klicking the link in my sig if you have the time.
It is part of a shift away from the red to our traditional colours black-white-green. The website will also be re-done.
I hope this doesn't mean that the red is now done with. It is as well part of our identity as the black-white-green and those four colours make us unique in European soccer.

I feel sick. :(

I was at the game today. This season I saw 0:4 goals in the stadium. Awesome.

My gawd do they suck.
I think I should just quote my post from 4 weeks ago, everything still applies.

That was the most depressing 96 game I can remember.

96 was just totally outclassed in all areas of the game.
They were scared, they were slow, they were technically and tactically inferior.

Brilliant performance by Bayern, no one is going to stop them this season sadly.

How could you not even get ONE chance to score, pathetic.

First game against Hamburg:
* getting dominated by Hamburg 80 minutes. Inferior both tactically, technically and also lost most tackles

Karlsruhe game:
* lucky win
* no creativity, slow
* spirit was ok
* Karlsruhe was pretty much outclassed by Leverkusen today, they looked at least as good as us when we played them

Well, and then there was yesterday. I really hope this team is not as bad as it seems right now but I'm starting to get nervous to be honest. It hink 3 points is ok after this hard schedule to thestart of the season it's more the way they played that frightens me.

Please give me old slow Bruggink, except for Huszti and sometimes Rosenthal there is not one player that can even complete a simple pass. :eek:

And Hanno - please leave to England, I'm sick of seeing you.
