Obviously this game is do or die for Pumas. A win here, and it could clinch at least a repechaje spot, and then the game at the volcan (with the team that I consider Pumas most natural rival) could decide who gets the other spot into the liguilla from the group. I don't know about y'all, but I am tired of kissing my sister. Let's get the three points.

Off to a lousy start as Luis Gabriel Rey outmuscles Palacios and scores.

Monarcas 1-0.

Here are the current positions:

América: 7-3-4 (22/12; +10) 24 pts.
Tigres: 6-3-5 (14/16; -2) 21 pts.
Pumas: 3-9-2 (16/14; +2) 18 pts.
Monarcas: 5-1-8 (19/19; 0) 16 pts.
Santos: 4-4-6 (16/19; -3) 16 pts.
Toluca: 2-9-3 (14/15; -1) 15 pts.

Tigres are playing Necaxa right now. If they win and we lose...BIG trouble.

If the reverse happens, we jump into second place because of differential.

Gotta win tonight.

Bernal made an outstanding save off an Alejandro Leyva shot.

Jehu misses a good opportunity off a Parejita pass.

Leyva acting like Castro shot him out there. It was a little love tap.

Things aren't breaking our way...

Monarcas lead 1-0 at the half while Tigres are up 1-0 over Necaxa at halftime in their game thanks to Kikin.

We've got to stay in this. Pumas play San Luis next week and Tigres face Querétaro. The final jornada pits Pumas and Tigres. We need that to be the showdown game.

We actually loooked good at times, but Pikolin started poorly, and without discipline... we need to really start winning it in the middle again, and holding on to it - the bernal save came from a good move, which did Veron all ends up, and the Chiapas chance (should, really, have scored) came from great work from the lad Pareja....

Scocco falling deep, Leandro not visible enough (one nice run.. we shall see...

2-1 in favor of Monarcas with 10' to go.

A Leandro shot off the crossbar hit the line. Íñiguez scored for Pumas.

very disappointing, after games where we deserved a win, and got a draw, we derserve a draw and get a loss...

ref was inconsistant and inaccurate throughout, missed many important things, but this was on both sides, to be fair - he handled the death of the game badly, (HOW was that a foul by Pikolin on Carrasco, for example? allowing the player to go down and stay on the pitch for three minutes in injury time?)

 this game was good to watch but we sucked on defense and offense...went to watch this one and the environment in the stadium was great...but we let many opportunities go and moy muñoz had a good game for monarcas...sucks, we are out of the liguilla spot...

good thing about saturday was that we went to see las "niñas que se portan mal":D after the game...

Velarde took a nasty hit on the shoulder when he landed. Is there any update on his condition?

Looks like Velarde is fine:-
Fue una contusión toráxica, él está bien, fue sólo el golpe que tuvo, nada más, no fue nada serio afortunadamente
Mediotiempo story (http://www.mediotiempo.com/noticia.php?id_noticia=36992)
Also seems Chupa Lopez and Alex Diego are fit again.

Still disappointed about the game - all those draws followed by a loss, in games in which we were superior, very annoying. Although Jehu Chiapas has done well, do any of you lads think that in some of those games Tuca should have given 4-3-3 a go? With Sancho in middle, Leandro and Parejita in front of him left and right, with Palencia, Scocco and Gonzalez up front - that could be quite a combination, you know.....
