Plain and simple question.. If the team you are a fan of did not exist, which team do you suppose you would root for?
Hmm, I've always liked Estudiantes and Velez, so I think I would probably pick one of them. I like Velez's style of play, it's usually offensive minded. Plus, they always find great players from their lower divisions.. So those are two points which make them sort of similar to River.
As for Estudiantes, I've always liked them for some reason (even before they won the last tournament). Maybe it's their colors, I don't know. I do like how their fans are loyal and usually support their team in big numbers with lots of color in the stands.
Either way, no team is comparable to River. There is no way of explaining what I feel for River. It's just an amazing feeling that is uncomparable to anything out there.
What team would you pick?

Banfield, el Capo del Sur. But that was easy since they are my second love.
Other than that San Lorenzo or Racing I guess, but I couldnt' imagine life without River.

I would start supporting Indios Chapaleufu or probably Sportivo Social San Francisco Bochas Club. Can't see my life without Belgrano (and yet we were about to disappear a few years ago :o)
I like the hinchadas of Racing, Chaca and San Martin de Tucuman though. Could probably simpathize with them.

if there was no boca (cringes at the thought)
I would probably support Dep Moron since a nieghbor in argentina is a huge fan of them. But in top division, prob Velez

If there was no Boca there would be no football.
But hypotetically...
I grew up in Caballito, so I'd probably support Ferro. I always liked Ferro, except when they played Boca.
Also I used to have some good friends in Floresta, so I often used to go follow All Boys.
It would be between Ferro and All Boys. I'd have to choose one or the other, can't support both those clubs, they hate each other.

well all boys are nazis. but after watching son amores, i liked them a bit. i always liked belgrano, i guess cause of rodrigo. my parents live 10 blocks from ferro and my dad would go dance over there in the days of the 60's. however my dad's family is almost all pincha so i alwaysed had a soft spot for them. altough this saturday i wanted to kill them.

Yeah true. There was some of that even back in the day with the barras. Especially in the context of the rivalry with Atlanta. Mostly songs about the 'Rusos', insults and crap like that. My friends and I weren't really into that. But it's gotten much worse. Now that you mention it, I don't think I could support All Boys, if I was growing up today. Too much hatred.
But it's getting like that in lots of places, it really takes away from the game.
But one of my friends on the All Boys barra later became president of the club. Now they're looking for him, they say he stole a bunch of stuff. (I don't know about that, but knowing him, it wouldn't really surprise me. I mean, the guy owes me money too.)
One time my cousin went to try out for All Boys, and he told them he knew my friend, the former president. They replied, 'If you know where that H.deP. is, let us know. We're looking for him.

Hello
I'm looking for an Argentinian club to support (because I hate all non-French European clubs and I'm not Brazil-fashioned, and because the Seleccion impressed me in your last match against France). :)
I research information about the identities, culture and values of the different clubs to make my choice. The only thing I know is Boca-popular and River-Millionarios !

i think that most of us will tell you the same thing and that is to pick a club for youreself. i was born a san lorenzo fan and have been there always, its more than a club its my blood. we arent the greatest club in the world but we have some of the greatest fans, also we should it as when we descended we filled every game we played and sold out every stadium there is.
pick what you want but do us all a favor and dont be a wandbaggoner and pick boca or river, they have enough already.

not jealous but i dont like big teams in general beacuse so many people jump on them, they real clubs are those that stay in the good and bad, look at nueva chicago fans, and compare them to huracan fans.

i also hate glory hunters. I hate meeting a 'Boca fan' who then can't name one player on the team :mad:
sadly that's what happens at big clubs. Just look at Chelsea :D
