Um. Not sure what you were watching this year, but I think DC and Houston did a great job in the Champions Cup. Houston actually beat a Costa Rican club...
When going up against the Mexican clubs, they both lost by one goal on aggregate.
No improvement? Lets not forget MLS clubs play this tournament before and at the beginning of their season (if they advance). I think both teams did great this year and had excellent chances to make it an all-MLS final.

The MLS is still in Pampers, lets not forget is only roughly 10 years old. They need to develop adequately, it's not suddenly going to be great all of a sudden. I say within the next 10-20 years we might actually see a solid US league.

they did eliminate a tico club, puntarenas a 3 year old club playing their first international cup (Dynamo too), I wonder if they are gonna be able to eliminate saprissa or alajuela next year....
But i do think that the MLS is improving, a lot... they got Beckham :)

Ya I think people keep forgetting our league is still a baby. I guess standards are held highly considering its a League in America. The league is finally gonna get TV revenue and we have our own stadiums. Most importantly we have owners that want to take the clubs to the next level. Once RedBulls has their stadium built next year im afraid they will set a new standard for the league. Unlike 3 years ago we had 3 total owners.

Morado and other mod(s):
Why is this thread not in Rivalries? This is utter crap.
MLS currently has 13 alums (and some of those are *rejects*) in EPL, plus another 1+ in Bundesliga.
Compared to just 4 years ago after the US made the QFs of the WC and played the eventual runner-up extremely well... we had like 4, 5 or 6 alums in top leagues in Europe.
In '98-'99, a small handful.
To say that MLS isn't improving is beyond ignorant. But what the hell can you expect from a Mexi sock puppet.

The league will get better. Brad Friedel's European style soccer academy is open. Soccer specific stadiums are being built. Some teams are turning a profit. They even had a great showing in Champion's Cup. It's only bound to get better for the MLS.

Mo:
I suggest a title change. And I say this publicly and not in a PM b/c it's important to see how a title and OP can dictate the quality of discussion.
"MLS improvement???" is less inciting and ... I know this is hard for a lot of the Mexican "posters" who front like they're not trolls ... baiting.

I think with one out of 13 posts being construting, and 3 out of 13 trying to keep the peace, it's time to start over.
Serge, you have several warnings about trolling. Either change your approach or go the the Rivalries forum.
