View Full Version : What Defense Do You Rather See Against River???

It is either Silvestre or Clemente out from the team that played last Sunday.

Against River , it would be either:

Ibarra - Silvestre - Cata - Morel

or

Ibarra - Cata - Morel - Clemente



I'd rather have Morel on the left, as Rosales is a dangerous winger ... and in the 2nd half, if needed, introduce Clemente for Silvestre to have more flow in attack. With the lack of speed of Banega, and the typical counter attacking footie that River plays, it would be necessary to have an ordered defensive back 4.

Having security in the back gives security to the rest of the team.


Thoughts?

I'm not convinced with Clemente playing on the left.

That is the defense that will shut out the gayinas.

It looks like all of us agree, except Russo. Watch him take out Silvestre and keep Clemente.

For some reason Russo is not sold on Silvestre.

Russo was asked this morning about it ... he didn't give a definite answer, but a reporter close to the Boca camp said Russo might incline for a "faster" defense, knowing that River's counters are quite fast.

He was mentioning how the right of River has Ferrari, Rosales and possibly Belluschi. But Clemente is very shaky in defense. He surely can chase back, but tackle and win the ball?
