Cape Cod could only tie at Rhode Island, so Raleigh gets the other Eastern berth by virtue of their win over Richmond.

After many phone calls, I can confirm for you that the Bridgeport Italians will represent Region I of USASA.
We'll have the draw posted on http://www.usopencup.com as soon as possible. I just spoke with an associate who is on his way to the Federation office at this very moment, and he's going to see what he can find out.

Does anyone know the time when the draw of the USOC that US Soccer will announce on their site? Does anyone know if it's going to be on their match tracker thing at all?
Thanks.

My best guess would be Chico Rooks, but it's only based on pedigree. I don't know anything about the other clubs that will be in New Mexico this weekend.
Chico are returning 13 players from a side that finished first in the PDL Southwest Division last year. They were probably one of the top 10 clubs in the PDL last year.
They lost in the 2002 USOC to Utah Blitzz, 2-0. Utah Blitzz were a D3 semifinalist last year.
As a D3 team in the 2001 USOC they lost to El Paso (A-LGE), 4-3.
They're playing in the MPSL this year.

This wasn't exactly the type of draw I though they were going to have. It definitely was not a blind draw:
"Geographical pairings and host proposals received from each club determined match-ups, as they will through the quarterfinals of the tournament. Consideration was also given to prevent teams from the same level from playing each other in the first or second rounds. Possible pairings for the third round will be announced after the completion of the first round."
I wish they could have set the complete pairings at least throuh the third round. The year that they bracketed all 32 teams at once was a bit more dramatic.

What was the nature of Vistula's protest?

Not exactly sure, but I'm guessing it probaly had to do with player eiligibility. A couple teams in the Region I tournament, ZPA and Dynamos FC, were DQ'd for ineligible players already. Vistula hasn't updated their website yet with news about the match.

Hala,
US Soccer has stated that the draw for the third and fourth rounds will be based on geography. I'm also assuming the quarterfinals will be too.
"The 2003 Open Cup geographical bracket pairings for the first and second round will be announced on May 28, two days after the conclusion of qualifying. Bracket pairings for subsequent rounds will be announced after the previous round is completed and will also be geographical. Home teams in each pairing will be determined by competitive bids submitted prior to the U.S. Open Cup pairings in late May. U.S. Soccer will determine the semifinal and final venues as the tournament progresses."
The above is from this news release...
2003 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Structure Set (http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=27894&itype=113&iCategoryID=0)
You may want to include this facet of the competition in your post above, unless US Soccer has announced a change that I've missed.
