I just have one thing to say: firing manager is the last thing you wanna do in this business.

I don't want Houllier to be fired either, since Lyon depends on stability. But I'm not a big fan of his management either. :(

I don't think Houllier can take you guys to the next level.OL is a great club with so much talent.I think that with a new experienced entraîneur, OL can become a force in the CL.I also think that Houllier isn't helping the complacency among some players.

...mecs qui se plaignent de ne pas jouer ou de jouer trop peu. Ces mecs-là, c'est comme les cellules cancéreuses, il faut les éliminer.

haha
faut eradiquer la gangrene!!! racaille tout ca
Houllier is sarko!!

I don't know how much this season has been down to the players maintaining the title, crappy competition domestically, fatigue etc. but i'm pretty sure a number of people want to move on and have some new experiences. Six times is enough to make you lose your appreciation for winning.

Here is an excerpt from Bernard Lacombe's interview with But. Lacombe admits that Houllier and he are sometimes in discord, especially regarding recruitment.

Jean-Michel Aulas officially confirmed Gerard Houllier in his functions for the next season. Is this the good decision?
Yes. The force of the OL is its stability. Certain people like me or it president have been there for more than twenty years. I am always surprised when the things in place are upset. For a trainer, it is different. The president often repeats that three years, it is the good duration. Then, it is necessary to change. Gerard Houllier still has a year of contract. One makes with.

One often evokes your difficult relations with him. What happenhappen does exactly?
One does not agree always. But I am not there to mark against my camp. Me, it is true, I do not like to pile up the players! I was assailing. When you see unloading a medium, you t'en insane! But when it is a guy who plays your station, it is not more similar! In this moment, there is only one place at a peak. To manage the players is a thing. How they are powerful is another! At the end of one year, the guy come to see you to leave like small Monsoreau last year. Nevertheless, I never involved myself in the technical field. I do not say to him who it must make play. I was a trainer and I would not have accepted it. People arrive at the stage at 19h30 and say by seeing the composition of team: "Ouh it, it still makes play this idiot! "But how can one question the choice of the trainer who lives with the group? The coach does not want to lose.

You its choices but as regards recruitment, are you evoke over the same wavelength?
Not always. In January, when it came to ask me a defensive medium, I suggested to him making assemble Müller in front of defense to repair. It is intelligent and malignant. I did not see the interest to make come Fabio Santos. Result: today, it does not play.

Who chooses the players?
Staff draws up a list of players. Then, one sees what one can do.

It looks like maybe Houllier's presence next year isn't 100% guaranteed.

Gérard Houllier hésite sur son avenir à l’OL ! (http://www.footmercato.net/ol-gerard-houllier-hesite-sur-son_article11947.html)

Also, rumors have been circulating that Patrice Bergues and Remi Garde may not be here next year, which coincides with JMA's statement that there would be changes among the technical staff.
