With El Super clasico taking shape this week I've decided to remember the players that made a difference in the history of el Super Clasico... There will be NO BIAS, both teams will have their share of heroes...

Norberto Osvaldo Alonso (born January 4, 1953), known colloquially as "Beto" Alonso, is a former Argentine football midfielder, who played the majority of his career for the Argentine club River Plate, being one of their most emblematic players ever.

Damn you, Mono.. I was going to post the Beto Alonso story.

Other than that, one of the best moments in Superclasico history was when Ricardo Rojas scored vs. Boca. It wasn't only important for being a goal, but also for being such a nice goal and making it an extremely important victory (3-0 in Boca's stadium).

Angel was definitely an impressive player while at River. Why the hell did he choose to go to the EPL?

Teniamos otro equipazo ahi: Cavegol, D'Alessandro, Lucho Gonzalez, Demichelis, Cambiasso, Mascherano, etc.

Enzo Francescoli Uriarte (born November 12, 1961 in Montevideo) was a Uruguayan football player who retired in 1997.

His official debut was with the Uruguayan team Montevideo Wanderers. Francescoli played for Uruguay at the 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cups. He played several years for River Plate of Argentina. He also played for the French Racing Club de Paris (Matra Racing Paris at the time), Olympique de Marseille, and the Italian teams Cagliari and Torino.

Francescoli was noted for his grace and fluid abilities on the ball. These qualities would later influence the style of French midfielder Zinedine Zidane, who has stated that Francescoli was his favorite player as a young boy and even named one of his sons Enzo.

Francescoli is known as El Principe (Spanish) or Le Prince (French), which means The Prince.

He is one of the few foreign players admired by most Argentine football fans. He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004. He is also Vice-President of GOL TV and Tenfield.

Pedro Iarley Lima Dantas or simply Iarley (born March 29, 1974 in Quixeramobim, Brazil) is a Brazilian attacking-midfielder , who currently plays for Internacional of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

Before joining Internacional, Iarley played for Ferroviário, Ceará, and Paysandu of Brazil, Real Madrid B, and Melilla of Spain, Boca Juniors of Argentina and Dorados de Sinaloa of Mexico. He joined Internacional for the 2005 Campeonato Brasileiro from Dorados de Sinaloa, where he played during the 2004-2005 season. Although Iarley impressed at Dorados in his first season, he also struggled with injuries, appearing in only nine games, registering three assists.

At Internacional, Iarley made a good impression at first, but then lost his place in the team that eventually won the Copa Libertadores in 2006 to wonderboy Rafael Sobis. After Sobis's transfer to Real Betis, he took on the number 10 shirt and helped Inter win the FIFA Club World Cup in the same year.

Antonio Roma vs. Delem:

That is just awesome. Thanks for the video.

Antonio Roma obviously did step up in an illegal way, but what ref would call that? Besides, old timer Boca fans will insist that River's Artime took a dive and the penalty shouldn't have been called in the first place.

Here is a great hero of the Superclasico. Brazilian Paulo Valentim.

http://www.futbolfactory.futbolweb.net/historicos/images/valentim.jpg
