I am fairly new to Atlanta. Since I have tomorrow off work, I'd like to go someplace for a late lunch and watch the Everton v. Fulham match tomorrow at 2:30. Anyone have any recommendations where they 1) show the games and 2) have decent food and drinks? Thanks in advance.

a little late for these question But I thought I would mention that the Brewhouse shows EVERY single MLS game you may have to ask them to turn one of the tv's but they are very friendly and helpful in getting a game on for you tonight they had all the games on as well as cricket, hockey, baseball, and a replay of the Man utd game
the great thing is that though they have so many TV's to me the Brewhouse doesn't have that sports bar feel to it

You're absolutely right....I believe partly because of a serious lack (yes, there are some) of Neon signs that most other places have and 2) The place inside, resembles more of a pub with Footy Jerseys and bar/equipment then a sports bar.
Maybe what strikes me the most is that you walk in and are always listening to the low drown of english accents discussing a Footy or Cricket or Rugby match rather then loud music or load obnoxious US type announcers who just talk up all the white space during the game.

Do any of you guys know if Brewhouse has the TeleFutura network for the Sunday afternoon MLS games?
I was heading down to Little 5 to watch the FC Dallas game, but when I called first they said they didn't have the station. Maybe just a waitress that didn't know.

I'm not sure but some of the employees don't know that much about what channels they do and don't have. I know I've watched a spanish language broadcast there in the past but don't remember if it was telefutura or univision or what. I know the El Ranchero by my house has the Spanish language channels and the Comcast set up I have has telefutura.

It's a shame they pay for all the channels and have trouble knowing which they have. I'll just have to check next time I'm there.

Went to Brewhouse to watch the FC Dallas RBNY game Thursday and more people were there for the Guitar Hero tourney. Any MLS games draw a crowd there?

I wouldn't call it a crowd but the Saturday games usually have a table or two watching the games. DC United and Chivas seem to be the most likely to draw.
I think one of the reasons may be that you have the hard core fans who have purchased the Direct Kick plan for themselves and the general soccer fans who are satisfied with watching the games that come on ESPN or FSC and don't interfere with their weekend plans.

If you guys make plans to go check out a game there (any game). Shoot a quick post up for me. I miss the Football in a Pub/Cafe atmosphere.

I'm with you jross. I'm actually hoping that there is a pub in the city that carries the EPL matches. Coming from Orlando, we had a pub owned by expats that showed the matches at full volume in the pub. I miss catching matches at the pub. Does Brewhouse have much atmosphere for EPL matches? Probably not, as I fear many expats in the deep south probably stay at home watching Setanta or FSC, as I do, because we haven't found a pub to watch the matches.
Any suggestions?
(By the way, I'm sure when we finally get an MLS team, we'll pack the place on away games)

There are actually two pubs in Atlanta that show pretty much every EPL game and I think a couple others that show just the later games as well. I've been to Fado's and the Brewhouse. I think Fado's is usually more subdued when I've been there but I haven't watched as many games there. Both places seem to get ex-pats.
I've been to the brewhouse to watch games when there were only 10 or 15 people there to watch a 7:30 am game and I've been there when it was standing room only.
Both Fado's and the Brewhouse have a good brunch menu and they'll both have the sound turned up for most games.
You'll never have to ask at the Brewhouse for them to turn an EPL game on.

I just like the brewhouse more and it's closer to me than Fado's.

Isn't (or maybe wasn't) Fado's in the part of Buckhead that's being torn down?

I'm not sure if the site is in future plans but I think it's at least a few blocks from any current demolition and construction.
They have a banner on one of their web pages that says something like "Fado's stays open during Buckhead demolition, Fado's last pub standing"
I hope it stays open but I still prefer Brewhouse.
