My disbelief at the fact that there wasn't a Red Sox thread didn't stop me from creating one.
I will skip over the obvious (it's in about an hour) to note that in 2004, the Red Sox opened their season by dropping a 7-2 decision to the Orioles. I only hope that Monday's stumbling start leads to a similar conclusion.

got it on match tracker right now at work.
nice game last night.
dice-k hasn't shown anything special yet, but he'll settle
he's just getting his 3rd k in the 4th now. only given up 1 hit though, not bad. He did look very shaky in the 1st (lot of high or very low pitches)

I got the cheaper MLBtv package for $80 (I ordered it right before I moved from NY so only NY games are blacked out :) ). He's a bit cold (used to play in a dome), but some of his pitches are crazy. His heat isn't up where it will be in warm weather, though.

At times like this I am reminded of how greatful I am that nobody I care about is saddled with the family name of Gload. ;)

Houston sports teams suck. Deal with it.
Other than the friggin' Dynamo and the Rockets, has any team from Houston won a championship in the other three major sports? :p

I'm sorry, I was only realizing real sports.
The WNBA is only alive because the NBA is putting tons of money into it. Hell, I hadn't realized their average attendance is less than 7,500. Ouch. And that's including a drop over 1,000 from the 2005 season.
Sorry ... try again. :D

Maybe the one thing Jim Rome does that soccer fans may appreciate is he asks David Stern if he's going to close down the WNBA in his yearly interview.

Tennesse Titans now...don't remind me of that chapter in my life, getting a sports team ripped away from you is one of the most painful things that can happen to a man (or woman). Enduring a Texans season IS the most painful thing that can happen to a man:p

I know ... I think I've seen the Pats win more games in Houston than the Texans have won there. :D

Sorry your uncle died. :(
But this just continues to prove that the Pats get no respect. ;)

Sorry to hear that.
Speaking of which, I was looking forward to the state budget surpluses when the Sox won the world series with all the old people keeling over who were holding on to see them win it in their lifetimes. The subsequent tax rate reductions would have made life better for all without losing existing programs.
No such luck. You need to freeze your ass off in New Hampshire to get a good tax rate up in this piece.
