I'm going to make a wild prediction and guess that the one guy raps the verses and the other guy screams the refrain.

I hate Linkin Park along with the rest of that rap-metal garbage.

Well, apparently they've changed, less rap and more singing...

it's threads like this that always make me giggle every time somebody posts about how open and understanding BS posters are of different music styles and all that honky that pops up every now and then.

Linkin Park is nothing special. They're not complete crap either. They always put out extremely catchy songs and their sound does reflect the direction modern music is going. Plus, in an age where mainstream music and independent music is very mellow, they don't mind putting up the volume and sticking to their guitar riffs.

Nothing like a Linkin Park thread to bring the music snobs out.

I was going to recall seeing Linkin Park open for Primus about 7-8 years ago, and all the teenage kids taking off after they played but before Primus came on, but then I realized that was Incubus, so same diff...
EDIT: I believe this is the first time I've seen the Music board spammed in such a way...

I hate the new Linkin Park. All they do is rap now. They even made that terrible album with Jay-Z.I used to like Linkin Park when they were just metal and rock music.I lost so much respect for them awhile ago.

It isn't so much being a snob as having functional ears. Being a fan of Linkin Park is sort of like living right next to the greatest pizza place in the world and still prefering the kind you cook in the microwave.

Terrible analogy. Who's to say your tastes in music are superior?

for the record, I think Linkin Park sucks. sucks hard.
but people like to pat themselves on the back around here for how varied and accepting they are. but they're not. that's why this thread makes me giggle.
I'm not saying you should like Linkin Park -- i don't. but so what if this guy does?

Exactly. In fact I like a lot of different kinds of music. I don't like pigeon-holing myself into one type or genre. Granted, you won't see me really enjoying Jazz. But I can sure as hell appreciate the artform and recognize that a lot of people love it. I don't feel my tastes are superior or inferior to anyone elses. Just different.
