I just received our itinerary for our trip to Scotland and I see we will be attending the Ross County v Airdrie United match on the 14th. Looks like a relegation fight at the bottom of the First Division.

Anyone familiar with these teams? Is there something or someone special I should look for?

Missed out on Caley Thistle who appear not to have a match that weekend. :(

Might try to trade my New England scarf for a local one. Any takers?

Don't go in the Airdrie end.

There's no great player in either side since Rankin left RC for Inverness.

It could be entertaining nonetheless.

The reason there's no SPL matches on the 14th is that it's Scottish Cup Semi-Final weekend. St. Johnstone vs Celtic on the 14th and Hibs vs Dunfermline on the 15th, both at Hampden (and both on TV.)

County beat Thistle 2-1 tonight so Airdrie are kinda adrift while the Dingwall side are in with a chance of even avoiding the playoffs. This'll make things interesting.

Does Gary Mackay Steven see any action with Ross County's senior side? I got a chance to meet him when our flight from Glasgow was cancelled a few weeks ago and I saw that he will be moving to Liverpool at the end of the season.

I got a chance to go to the Kilmarnock-Inverness match and I can tell you that attendance figures don't really tell anything about the atmosphere at a match. When I saw that the average attendance at Rugby Park was only about 7,000 people I didn't really expect a lot of noise or energy, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Enjoy your trip.

I hope Coach Barry got to the match on time. Airdrie went ahead in the 7th minute and Ross County drew level in the 16th on an own goal and the match finished 1-1.

Sometimes the attendance figures can be deceiving in terms of atmosphere - the Killie fans can be quite vocal and normally lay on a good atmosphere. Back in the 90's, they had the largest travelling support outside of the Old Firm. For 2 seasons, they were the only team other than Celtic that Rangers gave the entire Broomloan Stand to.

We all arrived early and got to see the whole match. I am back home as of yesterday. We had a fantastic time in Scotland. Everyone was very friendly except for one little hot head who had to be sent off in our first match in Inverness. After that it was all fun and games.

Any chance any of you saw the small gang of red jacketed American kids wandering around? That would be us.
