Cruz Azul and Umbro

Does anyone know how long the contract with Umbro is? I like Umbro, they make a really high quality product. The jersey they have now has stuff like, 99.9% silver thread, x-static technology, keeps you warm when its cold and cool when its hot, anti-fungal material to prevent bad body odor, etc. But they don't seem to have much else for us. They have a few things but nothing like training wear, or even a T-shirt. I have been on their website and they we are no where to be found. i just wish we had something like this

im not to sure but i think that anything the team wears as in practice gear or traveling gear (ie. polo shirts, sweaters, jackets) is for sale to the public. I have never really looked into it myself since i stick to jerseys only. I know ive seen Nunez and Delgado wearing polo shirts during press interviews. But like i said i could be wrong.

My brothers and I have been after all kinds of Azul gear for the longest time and the most reliable source has been, unfortunately, the shop across the street from Estadio Azul. They have polos, warm up gear, baby jerseys, the works there. But, like you said, you have to go to DF.

If anyone finds a way to get it online let me know, even though I always enjoy a trip to DF, if only for the tortas.

yes I have seen all that stuff. Unfortunately most of that stuff is not made by Umbro. I think grupo Rhinox makes a lot of their stuff, which is nicer than the rip offs. The thing I was getting at is for being such a big team we don't get as many things as America or Chivas. Maybe its because Umbro is a foreign brand and has cost issues, i don't know. I just think Umbro does a poor job of marketing towards us.

Ah I see. That sucks. Especially since Umbro is a really high-quality company. I mean all their kits are soooooo nice. I can see where youre coming from though, like jerseys and t-shirts are nice and all for game day but if you want something a little more "dressier"(for lack of better word) a polo would be real nice.

Yeah, thats exactly the kind of merchandise I wish we had more of from Umbro. It looks classy and well made. Maybe if we had a different brand we would get a little more, even though I really like Umbro

I see what you mean about the Kia logo. Its odd, I don't see many merchandise with sponsors, even warm-ups that you see on tv with ads don't come sold like that.

Yeah its a shame that Umbro doesn't have more products for the fans, and at the same time you could say "well maybe Cruz Azul should leave Umbro" but thye have such lovely kits. A big fork in the road. Have you found out when the contract with Umbro expires by the way?

Also, the reason for the Kia badge on the polo is most likely because Atletico are going through some financially hard times and are still trying to recover from being relegated to la segunda a few years back. Im guessing that Kia offered Atleti a substantial more amount of money if they placed the badge on fans merchandice.

P.S.- I heard you guys tied on a goal after a throw-in today literally at the final whistle :eek: . Thats crazy
