Being that I like to do things my own way, I'm trying to find something out there that is something like a mini-flip clipboard, where I can clip in my 3x5 custom game card, have the cover flip down over it, fit it into my pocket, and then use it when necessary. I think Michael Kennedy has something similar, but not quite the same. Has anyone else tried to find something like this, or am I just being an equipment nerd? :)

*Shoot can a mod fix my title spelling error? Thanks*

No you are not crazy. One of the most annoying things about my the OSI wallet is that it rips so easily. I hate having to patch it up with black electric tape. So I sucked it up and went to eBay and bought two "FIFA" wallets from some guy in Hong Kong.

I don't know if they are real or knock-offs, but they look the same as the ones used at the World Cup. They are made of leather and now I don't have to worry about the darn thing ripping.

I gave up on game cards a few years ago, when I was refereeing in the rain a lot. I ended up buying a SCUBA diving writing tablet and using that to keep my records. It's basically hard plastic, about the same size as my cards and about a quarter of an inch thick. With a normal pencil you can write on it perfectly, even under a running tap. At the end of the match it cleans up perfectly with a normal eraser.

Cool stuff. I'm headed to Office Max right now to see what they have, but I will check out Ebay and the Scuba idea as well.

Found a little 3x5 flip open holder which should do the trick. Just need a nice way to hold my 3x5 card in there, as it is designed for notepads.

There is a referee in germany who designed a nice pocket-sized notebook like the scuba tablet idea. I had it for a tournament a while back and it worked great. Not sold widely but will see if I can find his name again. HE might part with a demo version.:D

Caesar, that's a great idea. I just bought a 4 x 6 underwater slate ... I'm ABSOLUTELY sure it will come in handy one of these days!

i have a "storm" whistle that claims to work underwater. next time we're in the river, you bring your slate and i'll bring the whistle. we can see if they both work.

I could have used both pieces of water equipment last night. Steady to heavy rain from when I left my house to when I got home. This was my 3rd rain game in the last 2 weeks. You have to love the new turf fields.

Funny how none of the fans yell "C'mon ref, you are just doing this for the money." :)
