My favroite part of the interview is this quote

"Porque lo mexicanos estamos hechos casi al contrario, porque cuando hablamos bien de alguien parece que nos sale sangre de la boca, y cuando hablamos mal hasta nos da gusto y eso hay que cambiarlo"

It is very hard to invoke a winning attitude when success is seen as a liabililty. If Hugo can eliminate this attitude, the Tri will venture into unchartered territory.

That quote is on the mark.

Is it just me, or is Hugo running around giving exclusives to everyone? Didn't espndeportes (online or on tv) have an exclusive recently? And wasn't Telemundo announcing an Hugo exclusive for this Saturday?

Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that he is on good terms with the press, but I'm already getting tired with everyone's "exclusive", even if that's what they are.

Well how is Hugo's fault that the media outlets spin it as an exclusive? I don't get it. LaVolpe was getting the same treatment.

all an exclusive is, is a sit down with no other media outlet in the room. It excludes other media.

Personally, I like the fact that hugo was a decent working relationship with the press, i.e. non belligerent. I loved his well, i'l just let the media and the fans decide if Nery should play with mexico comment. The sad thing was, a media outlet reported it as fact.

I guess I worded my post wrong. I am complaining about the media overemphasizing the "exclusive" part, not Hugo himself.

I can't agree with Hugo more. I normally don't agree with him but I do this time.

blanket generalizations are ignorant. what makes you think our players have this attitude? maybe some do, maybe none do.

All these are just excuses when you can't win because you're players just aren't good enough.

When we have the TALENT, we will win the WC. Just like our U-17 team did. Great play by great players = GIO and VELA. Nothing more, nothing less.

He wasn't talking about players, he was talking about Mexicans. And they lived up to the quote last night after Paraguay scored.

I wasn't talking about what he was saying. I was talking about what you were saying. lol Just becuase you have that attitude doesn't mean our players do, or other Mexicans for that matter

And last night we lost because Hugo put a s h itty azz line-up on the field = poor talent. If he would have started our best line we would have won.

Good talent = win Bad talent = loss

It's not brain surgery. If we consistently lose to Brazil, Argentina, etc. it's not because of an ignorant quote, It's becuase our players just aren't good enough.
