Poachers, that's who.

If I could, I'd adopt a shoot to kill policy on anybody caught poaching. Unfortunately these governments are so corrupt that the poachers buy off the wildlife managers.

Anyone know when the group gets back?

Back and knackered after pretty much no sleep last night, 5 hours driving to/hanging round airport, 10 hour flight, 1.5 hour tube trip and then for lucky me - 3 hour drive home. Still could be worse, I think Dave doesn't get back to Chicago until about 09.00 and is going straight into work.

Some photos and highlights later today if I ever wake up. Rick's off to Germany for Pearl Jam concert in about 2 hours time ( - effin' madman) so hopefully I can dish the dirt first, e.g. Guess which great white hunter, who boldly faced down hyena with a torch (or "flashlight" for my American cousins), shrieked like a girl when a pet dog put a paw on his back during dinner? :D

I'm at the lounge in Heathrow at the moment, about to go board the airplane for Chicago.

The terrifying dog did fight a leopard, "to be fair."

That's Obvious on the left and Blessed on the right - playing in bare feet with guys twice their size, they more than held their own.

Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. It really was a beautiful place.

Here's the same spot on the Zambezi river at sunrise. The far bank is Zambia.

Our last night in Harare. As you can see Rick has acquired a special "African" hairdo :D

Also please note the very rare sighting of the Large Pink Judy bird, without the normal "beer and f-a-g in hand" plumage. ;)

effing Great. I'm so jealous. Keep the pictures coming. I have to say, I read Great White Hunter's first travelogue to my kids, they thought it was great especially the bit about seeing the white rhino.
