I wish our dear governor/presidential candidate had given that fine advice to his son . . . particularly in the midst of an election campaign!
David Huckabee Arrested at Little Rock airport with a loaded Glock in his carry-on luggage (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,268762,00.html)
This comes just days after Huckabee had the brilliant idea that the Va Tech tragedy could have been avoided if the students had simply toted handguns to class too. I'm in the midst of finals right now. So I've got to say that the last thing I want to see are a bunch of wigged out, stressed out, kids sitting next to me all freaked out about flunking out and having to repay $100,000 of student loans (not to mention the $1,000's owed on those credit cards they applied for to get the free t-shirt that day at the student union) toting Glocks in their backpacks because its so accepted that it's casually kept there all the time right next to their cigarettes and laptop.
ok i'll get off my soapbox now . . . :D
That's an awesome idea! Go to my professors office hours asking why I got a B+ instead of an A,
"Here, go over my paper again, are you sure its not worth an A?"
"It's a solid B+"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am"
-------> At this point you pull out the glock that you keep in a holster that matches your ipod case and pop him in the knee.
"I really think you should reconsider that grade"
Voila A instead of a B+
and they wonder why other countries graduate more scientists than we do ........NOT ANYMORE!

Just read this from the Beeb.......
Aussies pull out of Zimbabwe tour

Mr Howard said Robert Mugabe was a "grubby dictator"
Australian Prime Minister John Howard has ordered the country's cricket team to pull out of a planned tour of Zimbabwe later this year. He said the tour would be an "enormous propaganda boost" to Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe.

Hey all!!!
Just checking in with everyone from sunny Victoria Falls!!
Had a lot of fun so far, some scary moments and some down right annoying moments - but everyone is in Vic Falls (apart from Billy obviously........) and we are all well fed and have drunk a fair bit......
So we got in on the 1st June to Harare where the first 2 days were spent picking up camping equipment, the cars, mosquito nets, diesel, jerry cans and everything wlse we would need plus a more than healthy supply of beer and wine and food!!
We left Sunday 3rd June for Gueru and got there about 3pm where we set about putting up the tents for the first time.......it was amusing to say the least!! At about 4pm we went out walking with Lion cubs. It was amazing. they were like playful kittens and as you will see from the photo's that we will put up later we got to sit with them and play with them. It was an amazing experience to interact with an animal that is so wild.
From there to south Zimbabwe to Bulawayo which is an old colonial city steeped in history of Cecil Rhodes. We picked up more food (25 chicken breasts for $3) and stayed in a lodge at the Matopos. Ken decided to stay in the car as he wanted to look at the stars and got a bit of a fright in the morning as a friendly snake had decided underneath the car would be nice and warm for the night!!
Game viewing, looking at Rhodes grave and a drive to Hwange followed. We got to Hwange late afternoon and got upgraded to 2 nice lodges and cooked some great steaks.
The next morning was where it went wrong...........we were about 40 kilometres from the camp when on one of the cars the engine block and head gasket blew. Deep in Lion and elephant country.........we pushed the car off the road and decided the other car would go and get help and a tow rope. So 4 of us were in an unmovable car deep in the bush for about 4 hours which was fun as the sounds and smells around us scared the hell out of us!!
Later that day we were towed back and the mechanic at main camp managed to find an engine block on the black market (to get one through a garage would have taken a couple of weeks) so out Judy and I drove to Bulawayo on a night drive that lasted 8 hours in total and came back with the parts. Whilst the mechanic was putting in the parts we moved on to our next accomadation which was a hide in the middle of nowhere. We got there to see elephant and hippo at the water only 40 feet away and it was amazing. We fell asleep to the sound of elephant and hippo and heyna and woke up to the roar of Lions. Sleeping out in the open I can assure you is just amazing.......
We then got 4 of us in the car to go back to Main camp to see if the other car was drivable. On the way 8 kilometres from one of the camps we got a flat tire. Which would have been fine except we realised stupidly our jack was in the other car!!! We drove on 3 tires and a rim that is now ruined to the camp of Sinametalla where they changed our tire and back on the road we went. The car wasn't ready so two of us stayed that night in main camp and the others went back and stayed a second night wth the people we had left at the water hole. The plan was to meet in Vic Falls the next evening.
After a lot of worrying, giraffe spotting and sable spotting we heard our car was back on the road. As we were leaving we were rewarded by seeing an elusive white Rhino only 60 foot away. It was worth the hassle. So with a few hicups and a lot of laughs we are all in Vic Falls where we did the bunjee jump this morning. It was a great rush. My flatmate Adam was so scared that they had to push him off the platform!!
This evening we are going to Ilala Lodge to eat and looking forward to driving to Botswana tomorrow.
Lastly - Billy, where are you? You didn't tell me you were not going and you didn't answer my calls so I still went to Harare airport to wait when your plane was due. Would have been nice for you to be a bit respectful and at least tell me you were not coming............
Over all we are having a great time. We are changing the plan a little as Billy didn't bother telling us he wasn't coming and so the budget isn't as great. We are not going to Namibia but staying 3 nights in Zambia at Kafue National Park. I just want to see a leopard!!
Hope everyone is having as much fun as I am. I can receive sms in a lot of places so any Arsenal news can someone please sms me!!
Take care,
Rick

I think I found out what happened to Billy:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/10/coaster.scare.ap/index.html
HOT SPRINGS, Arkansas (AP) -- A dozen riders on a roller coaster spent half an hour hanging upside down -- 150 feet above the ground -- after a power outage shut down the attraction.

we are all well fed and have drunk a fair bit......True.
a more than healthy supply of beer and wine and food!!True.
We got to Hwange late afternoon and got upgraded to 2 nice lodges and cooked some great steaks. "Got upgraded" is an interesting way of putting it.
So 4 of us were in an unmovable car deep in the bush for about 4 hours which was fun as the sounds and smells around us scared the hell out of us!!Yes, it was terrifyingly boring.
We fell asleep to the sound of elephant and hippo and heyna and woke up to the roar of Lions.I don't know where he gets the idea that there were elephants. They are endangered and need to be conserved.
The lodge in Botswana is amazing, but Rick still hasn't seen a leopard. Judy saw one yesterday, though.
