Y quien marca en el medio??? Pintita? Esa linea de volantes tiene juego pero es un colador y con esa linea de tres me parece que vamos a pasar varios sustos...

Salvo por ese detalle, interesante equipo. Me olvidaba: Saviola o Crespo, dos de los pocos delanteros de categoria internacional y con experiencia que tenemos, tiene que estar. Al menos uno.

I think this team is unbalanced. I agree with elbp. Too much is asked of the veteran Ayala in this 3 man defense, with only Gago as a defensive mid. Plus Messi and D'alessandro are not suited to play wing-backs in a 3-5-2, even less in a 3-4-1-2.

If you really like the basic idea, maybe it can be fixed a bit. Maybe Zanetti (or Zabaleta if we want some youth) as wingback on the right, moving Tuzzio to the middle with Ayala. Take out Veron and have Messi alongside Gago and D'alessandro (if we must have D'alessandro, otherwise maybe keep Veron).

This would make more sense, I think.

Am I the only one who is just not convinced about Higuain? He did break it into Madrid's starting lineup but his technical ability is lacking when compared with the other options we have.

Sorin, Crespo, Pato, Zanetti I don't think are going to the squad. If I recall none of them except for Pato played in last year's. Heinze should definitely be there but I think most of the squad will be youth based.

That doesn't mean they aren't taking it seriously. Argentina has some incredible young players.

Basile quiere user "la seleccion local" como base y no los de europa porque para el los locales tienen sufficiente talento para ganar la copa. Espero que su experimento salga bien! :o

Y otra cosa: tiene una ventaja con los locales. El puede entrenar con ellos unos cuantos dias por semana que no puede hacer con los de europa.

It was nice to see the way Mascherano played Kaka in the CL finals, denying him everything. Especially when contrasted to what happened when Argentina played Brazil in England.

There is no doubt that Mascherano is a key player for the national team.

I like it, but let me switch it a bit. Put Messi on the left side and Lucho on the right. Maxi is just coming back from an injury whereas Lucho had another good season with Porto. Will Maxi be fully fit?? That's the burning question. What about Sorin on the left instead of Heinze?? Or is Sorin even going??
