Once again, we've proved that we're one of the true leaders and innovators in English football.

Not content with being he first club to win a European trophy; the first team to win the FA Cup while still a non-league club; the first English club to import South American superstars; the first club in to go public and offer fans a share of their team; and the first English club to seriously adopt the continental structure... we're now leading the way in terms of their latest commitment to charity work.

The fact that we were the largest donors to charity last season should make clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea hang their heads in shame.

actually, you were the last, not the first.

And you cheating gits handballed on the goal-line in the last minute in the QF at Reading that year. Etchings from the period show it clear as day.

Are you suggesting there be a replay?

Actually, we were the first (in addition to the last).

By "non-league" I mean a team that was not a member of the football league. The football league was founded in 1888, and Spurs won the FA Cup in 1901 (while still members of the Southern league).

Get your facts right.

yep, same players. Reading are 2-1 up and if Spurs can level then they deserve the replay they got, otherwise the cup defaults to us.

Of course, converting our penalty could be tough.

the FA Cup started in 1872 though, so all the winners were "non-league" teams until 1888.

Reading have the proud FA Cup record of.....
Most FA Cup defeats of any league club
highest FA Cup defeat of any league club
joint-highest home FA Cup defeat of any league club
and apparently the fastest ever concession of 3 goals in FA Cup history.

Right, but until the foundation of the football league, there weren't even qualifying rounds and even Scottish teams entered the competition regularly... But fair enough, I amend my statement to:

"... the only team to win the FA Cup while still a non-league club (since the foundation of the football league)"

OR

"...the only team to win the FA Cup while still a non-league club (during the only time period when it makes any sense to define a team as being a non-league club)"

Tax write-off, but great nonetheless.

You're right, we did win with a dodgy handball as the etchings suggest; chuffed about the win for Spurs, but afterwards I telegraphed 606 and advocated using humans instead of swine for linesmen and was compeletley written off as trying to ruin the character of the game. Alan Green's great grandfather was a W^&*ker as well. :D

Props to Spurs for their charity work.

Unlike yours, which was obviously the work of a true academic prodigy.

Wasn't it, though? I mean, to admit something as big as being retarded takes guts. Good on you, Monkee.
