i was quite suprised that you bought maccarone...firstly becos i expected him to join a "big" seria a club and secondly cos italians dont seem to leave italy at such a young age
but by all accounts he seems an excellent player and should do well for you....the official Seria A magazine describes him as a younger version of Ravanelli

LOL...good one mate.
Spurs....my surprise candidate to battle relegation this season in the second half as their old players tire out.
But they will "almost" stave off relegation...so it'll be ok because the 1st division is "almost" the premier league. However, after relegation they will have to settle for "almost" signing the "almost" great players... :)

And remember this Boro lad...the better he does, the quicker he'll want to return home so he can play for the National team.
Italian players are great if they are mature and international call ups are not on the cards.
If they are young and have a decent season look out as delusions of grandeur soon come home to roost and they suddenly see themselves as having to go back home so they have a shot at a cap.
Ref..Sam Dalla Bona.

he has already been called up for the italian squad. so :P he will be in the squad for the game on the 21st (i think) so that is good news..... But i do however i do think he will leave in the not too distant future. but at least he will go for a lot of money if/when he does. But i may be too pesamistic about the mans loyalty...guess im just going on past experiences. That is unless we can get some success down by the riverside and then prehaps he will not want to leave to further his career as Boro will be in europe.
we can always dream

Spurs have made an audacious double swoop to strengthen their team
by almost signing Ronaldo and Vieri.
Boss Glenn Hoddle said "I think this will prove to everyone how
ambitious we are and that we are the top club in Europe. This continues the good progress from when we almost signed Schevchenko last year and only last week we almost signed Rivaldo. If any of the top players in the world become
available we can guarantee that we will almost sign them."
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was quoted as saying " I
just don't know how we can compete with Spurs. We signed Rio Ferdinand and straight away Spurs respond by almost signing Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Vieri."
Arsene Wenger stated "Spurs are ruining the game with their monopoly on almost signing people. The rest of us just don't stand a chance. I would have loved to have almost signed these 3 players but we are just not in a position to compete."
Spanish giants Real Madrid commented that they were very worried
that Spurs would start to unsettle some of their stars with the possibility of nearly signing for Spurs being hard to turn down.
Chairman Daniel Levy explained "this is the beginning of another
golden era in the fortunes of Tottenham Hotspurs football club, we have made extensive funds available to the manager and have told him that that he can nearly sign any player he wishes"
The glory glory days of Tottenham Hotspurs are returning.
They nearly won today too. he he he he he he
