Not sure what this says about the current state of our DM position. Doesn't sound like Bruce I mean Bradley has much faith in the youngsters.

Rumor in Colorado, is that he was called in earlier but allowed to stay with the team in order to play against Valencia.

That is probably the case. Which reminds me: why the $%@* does US Soccer act like they're guarding national security secrets with this stuff? Why don't they tell us what the deal is? Why didn't they say from the begining that he would be in but not until after Valencia? Why don't they say that Pablo got called but opted out due to knee surgery and childbirth? This crap drives me nuts!

Because they don't have to.
Same way those bureaucratic schmos in the USSF don't have to answer to anything, get questioned legitimately, get called out on any issue and keep plodding along without a care in the world while patting each other on the back for a job well done.

This rant is right on. They've improved a lot, but the communication with fans is still falling short.

I'm just happy Beckerman's in camp. If the Euros are largely playing in the Gold Cup as is rumored, I'm thinking of Beckerman for help down south. Hopefully he'll get some minutes v. Guatemala.

Dude's got a cannon shot from outside the box.
Hopefully he'll get off one or two of them in whatever game he might play in.

At least provides cover/alternative if/when Carroll sucks.....since there is no Clark/Mastro available this time....

This makes far more sense now. I was puzzled by the Barrett/Mullan call up when Rico got hurt. Made no sense at all. Now it does.
For one, I've had enough looks at Carroll (at D.C. and w/ the Nats). He's decent but looks like Kerry Zavagnin II to me. Let's look elsewhere. I'd rate Pablo, Clark, Feilhaber, Bradley, Beckerman, and Kljestan ahead of him, at least for now.
