Some quotes from Stone in today's Toronto Sun (courtesy of 5H):

"Pearl Jam is going to do a few shows sometime in late November and then probably in February, we'll be out," said Gossard down the line from Portland, Oregon, where he was vacationing.

As for the new album, Gossard reports: "I listened to it the other day and it sounds great, yeah. I'm very excited about it. We worked with a guy named Adam Kasper, who co-produced it, so that's new. And the record sounds great. Brendan O' Brien mixed it and he did an excellent job. Everyone wrote songs, and there's some really beautiful songs."

As previously reported, PJ is shooting for November 19 as the release date of the new album

nope.

If I recall correctly someone asked in a pre-crash thread about PJ's contract status. Just saw this article that discusses their options:

Pearl Jam Faces an Epic Crossroads (http://www.calendarlive.com/cl-ca-popeye11aug11.story)

Some quotes:

"This, they say, is a band that could be as big as U2 but has chosen not to be, as reflected in sales of its last few albums. The most recent, 2000's "Binaural," sold about 700,000 in the U.S.--healthy but shy of mega-star, or mega-contract, status."

"They would have to demonstrate that they're willing to do the work that Bruce Springsteen and U2 are willing to do," one executive says. "It's hard to find groups that have the magic that they do, and if they wanted that [stature], it would be like the MasterCard commercials--they would be priceless."

- Album release date moved up to November 12
- The first single looks like it will be 'I Am Mine'.

"Look for this to hit radio September 17. Today's Ten Club update provides October 8 as the in-store purchase date for the single." (from http://www.fivehorizons.com/news/index.shtml)

Here is a link to the single performed live last year.

Awesome! That's easily my favorite song from the new stuff I've heard. I wonder if the single will be an electric version or more similiar to the accoustic versions I've heard. If accoustic, then give Eddie some heroin and he's Elliot Smith.
