Allrighty folks---good news and bad news. Background story first...

Many people on here were C-Firm members last year and renewed this year at last year's price. We all got our invoices showing last year's rate with no mention of an add-on charge to cover the jersey/scarf/beanie that new members are getting for free when they pay their whopping $325. Some of you wondered if you were obligated to pay for a scarf you didn't want, if you would get stuck with a beanie you might never wear. Many of us wondered what we'd be asked to pay on top of our ticket price for the scwag others were getting for "free."

So, the bad news---if you were waiting for your jersey/scarf/beanie to magically show up in your mailbox before game day, that ain't gonna happen. You have to go out and buy your own stuff even though new members will, yes, get it mailed to them for free. (At this point the beanies are AWOL, but they will at least be getting jerseys muy pronto.)

The good news---what WILL be magically showing up in your mailbox muy pronto is your Front Range membership card, which is good for 15% off any nonsale merch at official Altitude stores (I'm pretty sure that means the Can and the team store at DSG Park), where they sell all things Rapids. (Yes, your card is also good for discounts on Avs & Nugs stuff if that floats your boat.)

The reason this strikes me as good news is that if you don't want a beanie, you don't have to get one. If you are sentimental about your old Rapids scarves and can't bring yourself to leave them at home, there's no need to get the new one. If you want the home jersey instead of away or the windbreaker instead of a jersey at all, you can do that.

I dreamt about that windbreaker last night. For realz I did... :p

Then what happened to the "At Cost" purchase opportunity???

Also, here's the greatest thing of all... Doesn't matter if you're in the "proper" (and I use that loosely) Front Range, or even in clASS vi (whom the FO consider front range, for whatever mind baffling reason, which in and of itself is a joke) GIVE THE 15% DISCOUNT TO ANY, REPEAT ANY SEASON TICKET HOLDER. Now, that's fine, I just don't like having smoke blown up my ass, and being told I'm special when that's just not the case. I no longer believe a single word these clowns have to say until I SEE IT.

hmmm - the 15% off on NON-SALE items is a semi-nice perk - but that was originally seperate from the Free (C-Firm) or At Cost (Class VI) jerseys that were talked about at the supporters meetings. I figured part of my ticket cost was going to pay for that additional perk - so now the fact that it has vanished is a bit aggravating. Had I known this was going to be the case I certainly wouldnt have bought 2 season tickets - when there is only one of me and I havent met too many people from the Springs that would like to take one off my hands before.
So I shelled out over $600 (still not a bad price bugt wait til next year when they really crank up the prices), prolly spend close to another $100 on matchdays (gas, food, beer, Rapids apraphrenalia), and now if I want to have both jerseys I can get them at a 15% discount? Again, ordinarily not a huge problem, but as part of the effort to get people to sign up - not a big fan of the old bait & switch.

So let's see...

3 X $70 for jerseys = $210
3 X $15 for scarves = $45
Subtotal = $255
15% discount for the FRSG discount = (rough guess) -$52
8% Tax (in Commerce City, for the Stadium Tax, or in Highlands Ranch, for the "Keep Brown People Out of Town" Tax) = $28

Grand total out of Badger's piggy bank = $231

Let's Go Rapids!

GIVE THE 15% DISCOUNT TO ANY, REPEAT ANY SEASON TICKET HOLDER.

Indeed this is what they have done ... if you flip over your season ticket - it's good for a 15% discount.

I agree that this is something every season ticket holder deserves.

Well, that's okay...because you dont have the exclusive on contempt for supporter groups. Certain members of the FO have pretty much the same "joke" feeling about the Firm.

At the scrimmage last night, I am trying out several different views form many of the seats. I just happen to sit down in front of several FO individuals on the south side while they are networking with some of the fans. Then I hear this little tidbit:

FO Guy #1: Where's our supporter group tonight? (laughs)
FO Guy #2: Right there in the corner, deathly silent.
FO GUy #1: The usual. (several laughs)

And while I don't agree with you, Greg, you do say what is on your mind to pretty much everyone. If only the FO would do the same.

Mods, I started this thread to let people know how they could get their jerseys, and that mission was accomplished. As far as I'm concerned, you can close it now.

P.S.---I bought my windbreaker last night and did, in fact, lick it. But just once. :p

So, the beanies finally came in, and I know at least one of you received yours in the mail, so if you were expecting one and it hasn't shown up yet, contact Marcus.

Also, I will be placing a second order for C-Firm T-shirts tomorrow. If you want to order one but haven't contacted me yet, you have until 11 a.m. Friday 6/8. PM or e-mail me with how many you need and what size. Shirts should be ready for the June 23rd game, and you can pay up then.
