Earlier today i posted in each MLS club forum what they expect from their team the upcoming season (since i don't have all the free time in the world to check every single thread on every single forum), and i was shocked by how arrogant and rude 90% of the fans are (Columbus Crew, especially). I can tell you this from someone who doesn't follow soccer THAT much (i follow it when it's convenient) that it really is a turn off when people are stuck up like that.

Oh yeah, for what it's worth, the Houston Dynamo fans (and a few others) were pure class, and just from their hospitality, i know that i'll be supporting them next season. Also, i know that i'll be praying that the Columbus Crew have a worse record than they did in 2006.

Why not just support the Silverbacks and pray for promotion/relegation someday in the future?

Not all Crew fans are like the ones who responded to your post. I don't know why it's so brutal in the Crew forums but that's just the way it is. If it makes you feel any better, they're like that to everyone, even each other. It's not just you.

I hear Crew supporters are just big fans of General William Tecumseh Sherman, seeing as he was born not far from Colombus. There's a big statue of him near Crew Stadium.

how hard is it for them to ignore it if they didn't want to do it? it's not like i went up to them in person and said "tell me everything about your club or else." i put a post in a SOCCER discussion forum for each team to just tell me a little bit about their club. I know if i had the time and you asked me to tell you about the outlook for the Bulldogs in the upcoming season, I'D LOVE TO TELL YOU!!! And i kind of figured there'd be at least a few people that would be the same way from each club and in some forums there was.

I just don't understand the logic behind responding to someone that they're not going to answer my question and that they're not welcome in their forum because they don't want to spend hours to search through all the trash. That's why i call them rude and snobs because if they didn't want to do it than all they had to do is not say anything. It's not like i filled up the entire forum with my question where they couldn't see their other topics.


But let me tell you the way i would have handled it.

-"Hey, i want to know about your club"

-"You can search for your answer in the forum"

-"Do you mind just answering my question because i'm busy (or i'm too lazy to search through 3 million different threads)?"

-"Right now i don't have the time to, but maybe someone else will"

-"Ok thanks anyways"
