i am sorry but that is a sad-ass roster...
hell, i would have rather seen the u-23's or u-17's play wales than that bunch.

I take it CJ is only there because he picked up 2 yellows against the Revs last weekend and therefore can't play for the Fire.

As per the US Soccer website, Reyna is NOT expected to play, just train for fitness. We will see him in the line-up on June 8th at the earliest.
4-4-2 (diamond midfield)

Kirovski - Donovan
Convey
Lewis - Stewart
Mulrooney
Vanney - CJ - Agoos - Petke

I believe it is quite possible that we see a 3-5-2 in order to get Olsen in on the right, which would push Stewart inside with Convey. There aren't enough defenders, really, and woe is the USMNT if two guys pick up a knock in training. Maybe it's great the game is on Monday -- if there are last minute substitutions really, really required, someone can get on a plane Sunday.

On second thought... Bruce probably wants to continue his "Bobbito as Left Back" experiment (but it's a given that the three healthy Euro-based players called in will get the start).

Should be a fun contest to say the least. Neither team is exactly shooting to kill with their respective lineups. You've gotta give the Welsh team the advantage in terms of overall skill, I mean the guys (bench or not) are all EPL or Nationwide players. But as everyone in the world knows, when it comes to any team sport, there's just something about being American and finding a way to win when all odds are against you. As such, I would say we will employ a 3-5-2 against Wales and see 2-3 changes tops. Here we go...
Cannon
Petke--Agoos--Vanney
Mulrooney
Olsen---------Lewis
Stewart---Convey
Donovan---Kirovski
Subs: Rimando for Cannon
Brown for Agoos
Corrales for Stewart
Yeah, something like that... :-/ Seriously though, I doubt either Ching or Esky will get their first caps with the senior team due to inactivity and inconsistency (at least for now) with their current teams. Everyone else will play.

OK, before you pile on me for being a homer, I don't think either Olsen or Eskandarian belong in a Nats starting 11 at this point, but given the roster, and the utter pointlessness of looking at what Kirovski or Agoos have to offer, I'd go with:
Cannon
Brown Petke Vanney
Convey Mulrooney
Olsen Donovan Lewis
Ching Eskandarian
Chester FC

Here goes nothing:
--------- Cannon
-----Petke----Brown----Vanney
Olsen--Mulrooney-Corralles--Convey--Lewis
---------Donovan---Kirovski
Keeping the SJ central md core for consistency.
Subs:
Earnie for Olsen. 46th min.
Goose for Lewis -- now a 4-4-2, with Goose as cental d. (60th min)
Ching for Kirovski (70th min)
Esky for Donovan (80th min)
Good news: 5 natural lefties!

Assuming Reyna is out..........
1. I don't watch Corrales close enough to know whether he can play d-mid. I thought he kind of did with Mulrooney as well for San Jose, but I never really focused too much on his performances. Any thoughts?
If Corrales can play d-mid:
GK: Cannon
D: Mulrooney at RB
Agoos and Brown in the center
Vanney at LB
F: Donovan and..........I vote for Stewart
So that my midfield can be.....
MF: Lewis on the left
Olsen on the right
Corrales at d-mid
and I give the keys to car to Bobby Convey to see what he can do.
Screw Jovan. Better to see what Bobby can do in the middle than the million times tried 0 time worked Jovan Kirovski.
If Corrales can't play d-mid:
3-5-2
GK: Cannon
D: Brown, Agoos and Vanney
MF:
Kirovski behind the two forwards in his club position of withdrawn forward/a-mid
Olsen and Lewis outside
Mulrooney and Convey in the center
F: Donovan and Stewart
