don't like basketball or baseball (actually despise NBA)...
not much of a fan of NFL either...
I'll watch hockey, but don't have a team...

Love college football, though - Georgia Bulldogs!

My dad played for them back in the old days and we've had season tickets for all of my 36 years....

Baseball: Boston Red Sox. I've been born into a family of die hards, and grew up watching the team. I can't say there's a team I've been more loyal too, and in 2004 when they finally won it all was an amazing feeling. I immediately called one of my best friends in Florida who had grown up in the area after first celebrating with my family. Seeing highlights still give me butterflies and give me a huge smile.

Football: The Patriots, living in New England, but honestly I find the sport rather dull compared to European football :).

Hockey: Boston Bruins. Also a die hard fan of this team, though they have been consistently terrible since the lockout. Hard to root for a team this bad, but I have faith they'll turn it around in the next 5 years.

Basketball: Pheonix Suns. I would say the Celtics, but it's painful to watch a team that bad (and since I already do it for every Bruins game, I can't take two bad Boston teams). Knowing how Steve Nash is a huge Spurs supporter, I really pull for the guy to do well. Unlike most NBA stars, he is very unselfish and consistently feeds the ball to teammates to have the glory...yet some of his assists are so amazing they take away from the actual points. I'm not a huge Kobe Bryant fan, so I especially like Raja Bell clotheslining him on the court last year.

NBA: I have recently become a Phoenix Suns fan. Not sure why ;)

I have as well.

It's easy to be a Cavs and Suns fan.

Must be the Tottenham/Nash connection? Subconcious perhaps?

Sorry, just got off cloud nine after the Sox got done sweeping the Yankees. Four home runs in a row!

They won't, trust me Support Pittsburgh or Ottawa instead

I didn't like Syd his rookie year after hearing alot of his ego, but upon reading that he's had a broken foot the past few weeks yet still kept producing and playing without complaining I have a ton of respect for him. I took my girlfriend to her first Bruins game this year against Pittsburgh. We ended up winning in a shootout, but Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury really impressed me. I'm only a half hour out of Hartford, so when I read articles of the franchise possibly moving there when it was still for sale I was a bit gitty. :D

Ottawa I couldn't root for, being a division rival of the B's. I do like Ray Emery's fighting style, though. He's reminds me of the Edgar Davids of hockey.

Hawks and Flyers fans are the two teams I can really sympathize with. All three great franchises that have been run into the ground. Thanks for Bochenski, by the way :D . I hope Versteeg works out for you guys in the future, he was our AHL teams top scorer.

As for Hal Gill...don't get me started. Anyway who's watched a game with me during the '04-'05 season has heard me scream at him from my couch almost every game. For a guy his size, I can't believe how soft he is. I remember when he fought Zdeno Chara last season in Ottawa, I was excited to see a clash of such huge defensemen. Chara absolutely crushed him, and in typical Gill fashion he just tried to push him away or tie him up until the refs broke it up. To his credit, he did alot for Boston charity while he was here, so I can't hate the guy personally (and I thought it was disgraceful that Boston fans boo'd him when they announced he made the US Team's taxi squad for the Olympics), but he's just too soft a D-man for my taste. Then again, look what happened to Chara since he came to Boston...

Count me as a FLyers fan who can't get excited about hockey anymore. I found I didn't miss hockey all that much during the lockout and now the Flyers are horrendous - it's just not the same as the old days when Pelle Eklund was my boy!

There is only 1 team I would want to see win a league title more than Spurs and it is the Chicago Cubs.

I was born into being a Cubs fan and my dad has been a season ticket holder since 1984 and my younger sister is named after Mark Grace. There is nothing I love more than walking to and from Wrigley and the Atmosphere around the stadium during summer nights on game nights, when playing the White Sox or the Cards and playoff baseball at Wrigley is great. It is a team that I always go to with hope, and with some of the young tallent (Pie, Theriot) comined with some stars (except slumping Soriano) I get the feeling it can always be a good season....however its not.

NFL: A Bears fan by default.

NBA: Bulls....games are fun, but they are beginning to get a little too hard of a ticket and kinda classy.

NHL: Blackhawks, but since they suck any Canadian team during the playoffs, especially Montreal (Dad went to college there)

NCAA Basketball: Creighton Bluejays (where I go) and Univeristy of Illinois...got a soft spot for Vermont also.

NCAA Football: Don't consider myself to be a huge fan one way or another, but if I had to choose it would be Northwestern, but I also like Texas and going to games at Iowa.

NCAA Hockey: Vermont, Minneosta (family) and BC (Close frined who goes there).

that about covers it.

College Football: Oklahoma (Family heirloom)

NBA: San Antonio SPURS (They were the only sports game in town during my time in Austin, other than The University of Texas...and for those who don't know, Texas and Oklahoma are the Celtic/Rangers, the Barca/Real, the Spurs/Arsenal of American Football).

Sweet Christ...NBA Finals tickets are going to cost me an arm and a leg, but look for me at Game 2...I'll be the guy with the Tottenham kit on (its lucky...it made Amare leave the bench...). But I've been with them since the Admiral was choking in the playoffs, and through the Derrick Fisher miracles, and Ginobili fouls, and I've never made it to the finals before. I'm not going to miss this year.

It's now August and the Yankees are still 7 games back. :D

Just thought I'd let everyone know that wasn't aware. The Red Sox picked up a pitcher named Eric Gagne....anyone heard of him? Is he pretty good?:p

The Celtics pick up Garnett and Ray Allen to compliment Paul Pierce, and the Patriots are the favorites by everyone to win the Superbowl. Oh yeah, and the Revolution are atop their division. What a good time to be a Bostonian!

/end bragging.

The scores still 3 to 1. :D

The Patriots were housing the Colts the first half and fell apart. I give the Colts all the credit in the world for coming back from that, they deserved the Superbowl that year and I can't complain one bit. It shows alot of character to not give up. The Pats were, however, only a play away from a win. Reche Caldwell couldn't hang on to the ball, and with all the offseason moves, especially adding such wide reciever depth, it's hard not to like the Pats.

There are other sports? :)

I love the Pats, Blue Jays and Red Sox.

I played Aussie Rules, so I am a fan of the Demons since they sponsored our team.

no quarrels with that (if only because i don't care enough about the NFL to quarrel ;) ). pats...colts...take your pick.

i was just having a laugh about you italicizing 'everyone' regarding who's picking the pats. and, hey, maybe every neutral is picking them, for all i know - i just have to deal with alot of colts fans these days, that's all. ;)

I don't follow most of the big American sports that closely anymore but here are who I like to see do well.

MLB: S.F. Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Angels.
Giants are my all time faves and the other teams have had or have players or personnel that I like to root for.

NFL: Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts

NHL: Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators,(although I wish they'd move or fold.) Toronto Maple Leafs

MLS: Colombus Crew, Houston Dynamo, Chicago Fire

NBA: Phoenix Suns
