Hi all-- First comment/thread...

I'm a recovering parochial American sports fan, who stumbled on TV Azteca while trying to recover from the end of the American football season. My new sports obsession is Mexican soccer. Very fun, very cool, right down to the cops in riot gear protecting the corner kicks!

Not to focus unduly on the aesthetic, but I like several of the unis and wonder if any of you have jersey recommendations.

In particular-- how do Atletica jerseys fare for durability and quality compared to Nike/Puma/Adidas?

I've got my eye on the Morelia home and Cruz Azul black (alt.) jerseys. Any ideas?

The cruz azul shirt is very thin, good quality though.
Since I am an Americanista, i am partial to the club america shirt. They are nike and of top quality. I think the 90th aniversity shirt looks very nice.

Here's an idea. Why don't you try MLS, since you are an American.

Here's an idea. Why don't you try MLS, since you are an American.unlike EPL or FMF jerseys, MLS jerseys seem too damn generic. like i could go to soccer.com and buy the stock jersey and have them make it look like half of the jerseys in the league.

Maybe because some people would rather watch grass grow than watch the MLS??

I admit the America 90th jerseys are quality. I'm seriously considering picking one up.

Well since he/she is an American I think that maybe they should watch their own league. And the Mexican league is about the most boring brand of soccer that can be played.

OK, dude, I'll make an effort to get hooked on the Revs (local MLS franchise). The Krafts do pretty well with the Patriots, so the Revs must be pretty good, no?

(Their jersey leaves a lot to be desired, though-- a generic adidas styling, seems to me.)

I never said that their jerseys were anything special, lol.

This coming from the guy who lives in the US and supports Arsenal...why not stick 100% to ur OWN league?

Talk about being ignorant...

The Mexican League is by far better than the MLS...maybe thats why hes interested in the Mexican League.

Back on topic, personally i like Atletica jerseys a lot. More so than Nike Jerseys and Adidas. Theyre more comfortable to me. I have Toluca (a few home, 1 away), Morelia (a few home, 1 away), Santos (2home), Jaguares (home). I like them all very much. Right now im liking Morelia's away jersey. Burgundy is classy. Id recommend getting a few of the jerseys. If you can buy them in Mexico that would be better. Here they are like $70, in Mexico u can find them as low as $35.

You live in the US and dont support any MLS team so how can you say anything to me?

I was an Arsenal fan before there was MLS, but DC United is my team. And there is nothing wrong with supporting two teams in two leagues an ocean apart.

Obviously u didnt get the sarcasm in my post. U started telling Steely to stick to his homeland league, so i was being sarcastic by telling u to do the same. So the moral of this story is that he can watch any league he wants and u can do the same.

That didn't really seem like sarcasm. Sorry. I'm just saying that he should try his domestic league as well. Of course he can watch any league he wants, more than one also.

T, thanks a lot! Like Morelia home, think I'll go for that one next. The away one's interesting-looking-- funny they'd go for burgundy as an away color.

Thought about San Luis away, but the one advertised on-line . . . ain't what they wear, apparently! Away uni has gold and blue stripes, rather than the available solid blue.

Jaguares home looks cool, too, tho like both the white and orange versions.

Final query: I'm 5'9", 145ish (thin). Does that = Atletica large???

Im 6'1, 160ish, thin as well....i usually get mine xl or xxl...but yeah i think a large should do..the only thing i dont like about the jerseys is the sleeves..they tend to be shorter than u would expect them to be.
