Fratton Park info [Archive]

Going to be in England in a couple of weeks and have always wanted to attend a match at Fratton Park. The only home match pompey have while we're there is a high profile fixture against ManU. General Tickets are supposed to go on sale later today, but according to the web site, only single seats and obstructed views are left.

Question for anyone who's been to FP. How obstructed is obstructed? Are we talking part of the field being obstructed by a pillar, or are we talking not being able to see one of the goals?

Any light someone could shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

The obstructed views would be in the old south stand and the pillars are about 18" wide and can be either a part of the pitch or a goal that is obstructed,though it is possible to sort of lean and see it is a bit of a pain.
Btw how many seats are you looking for?

Oh well, sold out according to the web site. Looks like lower league London football on this trip.

Unfortunatley the two season tickets the the PFC USA supporters club have are gone.I would definatley phone the ticket office direct and explain you are coming from the USA and they possibly would try a little harder to accomodate you.
Getting back the Supporters club everyone over this side of the world should look into joining as it is a way of getting info, tickets and fun.
