Thought to start a separate thread on this for the rest of the qualifying campaign. So, who will YOU support this weekend?

I am most interested, as a football fan, in the England vs. Israel tie. I will be definitely going out to a bar to watch this game. I 'm a little torn b/w the 2 sides, as I really like England and suport them when I can, but at the same time, I really really want Israel to qualify for a major tournament.

As a Ukraine fan, I am obviously MOST concerned with their tie against Faroe Islands. However, I think we should handle them with ease. I just hope Sheva doesn't get injured.

Russian and Estonia is of somewhat interest, but i don't think I'll bother to watch the game.

So, here's to an exciting and injury-free weekend of qualifiers.

...and here's to me being pissed off that, yet again, poxy Internationals disrupt far more important football matches.

We will have a massive fixture backlog because of this break, a time in which two matches could have been played.
Not to mention the added risk of injury, the fatigue associated with air travel to and fro in such a short period of time, no time to really work with the team and tactically prepare for our next game.

It's bad enough that we are only 3 games into the season when these poxy Internationals enforce a halt to the league, but now, wit hthe most important part of the season upon us - we have to grind to a halt again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's time UEFA adopted the system that is used in CONCACAF and eliminate some of these pointless fixtures.

Ukraine v Faroe Islands.

FFS

looking foward to another McSven debacle and torn between two minds

1. Bad result= end of the Ginger Idiot

2. Good result= better for England

Clan will appreciate Giles Smith's view of the upcoming internationals

There doesn't seem to be a fixture this weekend, so I take it that means Steve McClaren is off with half our key players on another of his pointless jollies. Up to a point, I feel the same way about the people who arrange for international football to interfere with the rhythm of the club season as I do about pitch-invading hooligans. They're only a minority, but they end up spoiling it for the rest of us.

I'm looking forward to the matches between Greece-Turkey and Israel-England. And of course Spain, who just have to win against Denmark. Holland will have no problems with Romania, giving them a confortable lead in the group.

Ballack vs Cech this evening should be an interesting game for Chelsea fans.

Both playmakers, Ballack and Rosicky, play against their club goalies, Cech and Lehmann, letīs see if one of them scores against his teammate.

That game is on the telly later, I might give it a look to see how they do.
