Howard = Gold Cup
Keller = Copa America

"So what should we see for these games?
Vs. Ecuador- Bocanegra-Onyewu-Conrad-Cherundolo
vs. Guatemala- Pearce-Conrad-DeMerit-Spector
The Midfielders

"So what can we expect? Ecuador's speedy and dynamic midfield will offer a great test for whatever unit Bradley starts and I am hoping for a Beasley-Feilhaber-Bradley-Dempsey quartet in that match. A Mapp-Bradley-Carroll-Dempsey foursome against Guatemala would be interesting as well. I'm as anxious as the rest of you to see what the new kids have to offer."

Thanks for compiling those - they're an interesting read. I wonder how close he'll come to predicting the actual lineups.

Interesting he is so keen on Conrad.
Also, he also plays Boca at LB vs Ecuador.
I too would love to see both Feilhaber and Bradley Jr vs Ecuador, but that takes tremendous chutzpah. Does coach want to lose?

I don't see much reason to call in new players like Benny if you aren't going to give them significant time. McLaren recently called in Joey Barton and played him for less than 15 minutes. What do you learn from that?
Throw the kids in the fire I always say.

I think you can expect only 1 run out for most of the EUROS. This will allow a little bit of rest during the FIFA break for these International games. With only 1.5 to 2 months to go, most of the EUROS are probably a little worn down and many teams have several key games ahead as they fight for European cup spots or try to stave off relegation.

I'd rather see Mapp against Ecuador than Beasley. In the recent couple of games, Bradley only gave Mapp a 2nd half run-out against Denmark, and then failed to give him a minute against Mexico. To relegate him to only some mop-up duty against Ecuador would be a shame. Bradley should start him so we can see what he can do.

I am looking forward to seeing Pearce again.
His pass to KC Jr was great (offsides or no) and I like how he came out and said he was the best at left back.
Should be good.

If I had to guess I would picture Bob Bradley starting Michael Bradley and Carroll against Ecuador and Feilhaber and Bradley against Guatemala. I can already see it now, the complaints of nepotism from those few wingnuts who don't realize the progress Michael Bradley has made in Holland.
i'm a wingnut. ives has bradley starting in both games. nepotism or not, how does a 18/19 year old who's unproven at the international game get an automatic start by ives. if he was starting for barcelona, i would understand.
does mikey deserve to be in the pool, absolutely. but i hardly think he needs to start both games. mikey in the US midfield at this point is an unkown quantity.
his blogg is more of a fan's blogg then a sportswriter.

i can't see feilhaber and bradley BOTH starting against ecuador...
i smell carroll, with either feilhaber or bradley, more likely feilhaber coming in at the half to add more into the attack...
then against guatemala, start carroll with feilhaber, then bring on bradley at the half for carroll...

Maybe you need to switch to progressive lenses; I'm not sure what to do about your poor sense of smell.
With Clark out of commission, and Mastroeni out as well, v Ecuador you can start Feilhaber with Bradley or Bradley with Feilhaber - those are your two options. Carroll can come in later if/when we're ahead. I hope that's clear.

I'm tired of national team position experiments.
I hope Bob lets people play their familiar positions, where they are best. Competition between two good players for one spot is a positive thing.

The days of finding spaces on the field for our favorite players, regardless of where they are on the field, should be over. If he's not good enough to beat out the players in his normal position, then he should sit (with very limited exceptions).

his blogg is more of a fan's blogg then a sportswriter.With Clark and Mastro both out one of Feilhaber or Bradley is going to start. Both are unproven, Bradley is actually the more seasoned professional of the 2.

Another candidate for progressives? Is there an optometrist in the house? Hey, I'm kidding! :D
V. Ecuador, it's BF and MB to start. Carroll can start v. Guatemala, if you insist.

You and I can say what we'd like to see but it's stupid to act like it's a given

Boca would be a likely option, he's played there for Fulham.
