At least things aren't this bad. Yet.

Thanks for that. Although it's depressing.

I'd never realised it at the time but how fixed does that Holland game look?

we got robbed in both holland games.

at wembley ,we were coasting at 2-0.
then jan wouters does a hatchet job on gazza ,doesnt get sent off for fracturing his face and we draw 2-2.

at rotterdam ,koeman brings down platt when he is clean through and isnt sent off in the most blatant professional foul you will ever see .and we dont get a penalty either .Koeman than proceeds to go down the other end of the pitch and score.

taylor is a sh1te coach ,but it is a very tough job indeed.
ironically holland eventually got shafted themselves against brazil in the actual world cup.

Very true and Koeman was given the opportunity to retake the free kick.

On the other hand, pretty sure Rijkaard had a legitimate goal ruled out for off side in the first half

God, do I remember it well. Great video. The thing that comes to mind is Turnip going to three at the back at Norway....despite not practicing it much...kinda like McClaren doing the same thing vs Croatia....with the exact same result. Having said that Koemans should, withiout question, have been sent off and a penalty given (at 0-0)....as it was Holland gets a free kick and Koemans scores the go ahead goal....At the time I was screaming at the screen for Seaman to get his positioning right (watch it again, about the 44 min) as he is so far off getting it right its a fcuking joke.....he is standing by his left hand post, showing the ENTIRE goal to a talented Dutchman....with the obvious result....ball in back of net and England effectively out of the 1994 world cup.

The second goal was dreadful as well.

Are you taking the piss?

If there's one thing that documentary shows us, it is the despicable, sickening nature of English tabloid journalists, Rob Shepherd being possibly the worst of the lot.

Well, that and the fact that Carlton Palmer is as thick as pigshit.

We actually played really well against Holland in Rotterdam and were very unlucky to come away with nothing. Norway's equaliser against us at Wembley was a goal out of nowhere.

Taylor was not exactly a superb tactical manager, but watching that video shows that we were pretty unlucky in that qualifying tournament. Having said that, if we'd got to the World Cup we would no doubt have been stuffed anyway, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

Funny how I post a link to this in the video forum of bigsoccer and the next day it shows up here... :)

Another funny thing is seeing Phil Neal parrot Taylor's words and even his body language on the bench.

I love the editing too. Before the Poland game in Chorzow: "The one thing we don't want is to be caught on a quick break." (show clip of England being caught on a break vs. Poles) Taylor on the bench: "********ing hell...we are in trouble."

That works both ways, there's also a clip of them practising a free kick in training and being given a free kick in the home game against Poland where they used their routine and scored, I think it's Poland, mind you it was a pretty simple free kick, a bunch of five year olds could have come up with it.

Amongst other things, yeah. That documentary acquired a kind of cult status with my mates when we were at Uni, I must have watched it around 50 times, sad gimp that I am.

We're not supposed to criticise fellow refs, but that ref was an absolute bl**dy disgrace. How that was not a red card for DOGSO is beyond belief.
Not the only match involving a Dutch side that looked bent beyond a shadow of a doubt either.

IIRC that ref never was involved in an international game again.

The refereeing decisions were dodgy but it's not like England were the better side on the day.
