Hoo boy.
I had laparoscopic surgery yesterday for a bilateral inguinal hernia (one on each side, in the groin area) and am wondering if and/or when I'll be able to return to the pitch.
I'm 36, left-mid/wing, healthy and fit my entire life, still faster than 90 percent of the 20-somethings on my team, and I'm worried sick that I'll be relegated to coaching too early (that's not a knock on coaching).
Has anyone out there had this procedure? Were you able to return with confidence? How long was your recovery time? Any lingering effects, physical or mental?
Any words of wisdom aside from 'Vicadin is good' are appreciated.
