We’ll it’s fifty odd years and we’ve still won ******** all
‘Cept the Intertoto Cup which is terribly small
When they held it aloft we couldn’t see it at all
We’re the boys from the Toon
We take our shirts off on a freezing cold night
Because we’re such fat basta**ds they’re too ********ing tight
But the cold keeps us awake while the teams playing shite
We’re the boys from the Toon
Like most of our fans our strikers are on the sick
A hundred grand a week Owen’s taking the mick
And 9 mill for the Spanish guy who plays like a dick
We’re the boys from the Toon
We’re the best fans in the world they all say so
Truth to tell it’s just that we’ve got nowhere else to go
Saint James’s Parks the best place for a comedy show
We’re the boys from the Toon
....thanks to Barry on COYS

I was delighted when they went out, they got 28,000 for the 1st leg against AZ, that was their biggest game of the season, we got 34,000 against Port Vale in the 4th round of the Carling Cup. The barcodes do annoy me.

They're simply massive.

They are a product of the Sky era. They absolutely love them and Sky's money has helped build Newcastle up from a 2nd division club under Ardiles to a title challenger under Keegan and then back down to a big-spending mid-table side (like Spurs were until last year).
I have no sympathy for Newcastle. None whatsoever, bad management from top to bottom and then you get the manager coming out to criticise his defenders - something like "we need players good enough to play infront of Given" (don't know the exact quote, sorry).
Roeder is a charisma free zone. Fat Freddie Shepherd is a greedy and useless c*nt of the highest order and some of their players aren't fit to wear the shirt or deserve the attention of the fans who shell out a bundle of money each year to watch them.
Major overhaul needed but probably just papering over the cracks with a big money signing, again.

Shyte club, shyte fans (28,000 for a UEFA cup game is pathetic), even shytier manager (if that's at all possible). But great to make fun of!

I can't stand Newcastle. I do like some of their players, like Parker and Solano, but the club is so badly run and I hate the "best fans" title they've given themselves. Best how, exactly? Noise? Atmosphere at the ground? Support? Loyalty? None of the above.
A classic example of Newcastle's approach to football is the Owen situation: Spend too much on a player who didn't want to go there and is just going for the money. Then when he gets injured spend too much on another striker who, because of their similar style of play, will not be able to play with Owen when he returns. The club just throws money around for high profile forwards and completely ignores the defence. Bramble is their first choice CB and they expect to win trophies and challenge the top 4???? Roeder can talk about needing new defenders all he wants now, but come Summer Fat Freddie will just go out and buy another midfielder or striker.
