saturday: drive a friend to the cincy airport bright and early so she go go see her ailing sister. drive back to columbus by 11am and watch my two teams play and wish i could play. then that night, i am heading to the crew vs. rapids game.
sunday: meet daiz at *our* soccer game, i will watch yet again wishing i was playing. hit bw3's after the soccer game. then relax and do nothing.

I played in a practice game against Missouri Baptist College in preparation for our MO State Games Tourney this weekend and picked up 3 new injuries! Hooray! WooHoo! I just love to cart new injuries into tournaments. Injury number 1 occurs on a corner kick, I go up for a header along with a defender and their keeper and we all merrily bang around a little in the air and one of those two guys lands hard on my instep. OUCH! The ball drops free and soccertom while thinking OUCH, has the soccer brain turned on at all times and toe pokes the ball square to my team mate who taps it in for our first goal! Hooray! Injury number 2 occurs when the MO Baptist wingback who apparently thinks he is Roberto Carlos and he comes storming up the wing and we have several players including myself attempting to impede his progress :D well the ball caroms and ping pongs it's way 4 or 5 times down the wing with the bounces always falling right into the path of the bad guys runs. Finally the ball squirts into the penalty area and 2 of the MO Bap players and 3 of our defenders myself one of them all arrive at the same time in a little smash-up! One of our defenders comes fying full force at my legs and I say to myself "Uh OH! OUCH!" My Defenders very hard body crashes into my naked shin bone! OUCH! I immediately think "I definetely should have put on my *%$&@# shinguards"! Anyway they score on the play and I cry a little bit but I DO NOT allow my team-mates to see me cry. ;) My 7 year old daughter asks me "Daddy did that hurt"? I say "no honey nothing ever hurts your big strong Daddy"! She says "well then why are you crying"? I say "nevermind honey". Injury number 3 occurs when I receive a nice ball @ the top of the penalty area and their Stud central defender comes out to challenge me with a look on his face of "ok old man time to give up the ball" and I think I going to show this young whipper-snapper some of the soccertom magic and I whip a couple of quick right step over moves to set up my Cruyf move back behind my body to set up a leftfooted bomb! Well the moves work a little too well because the young whippersnapper was caught a little flat footed and he resorts to taking a wild swooping swipe where the ball used to be and now only my right ankle is there and OUCH! The pain is real and I make a quick decision to scrap the left footed bomb idea and I slot a little through ball into our forward and he scores and I head for the sidelines with a little bit of a smile and a little bit of a tear and my Julia Rose says "Daddy I guess that didn't hurt either did it"? I reply oh maybe it hurts a little bit but I will be allright. By the way none of the Missouri Baptist players are Baptists! They are all Catholics! Final score we lose 7-5.
I can hardly wait for Saturday's Games!

own goal, i think i played with you last last in some pick-up games around ohio state...
do you have yellow cleats?
our game is organized. there are not too many kickarounds on the weekends b/c so many are in leagues...
but during the week, there are a lot.
tuesday - at obetz, at the crew practice facility
wednesdays - at the wasa fields
thursdays - at antrim

where are the wasa fields?
ill start to hit up those pickup games, what time do they usually get underway, 7?

Mornin', y'all!
First, thank y'all so much for confirming what I feel needs to be done for (note I say "for", not "to") Shiloh. I hear that there's more news about him, such as his urine is so toxic from the chemo, they have to collect it before the other animals get to it. I truly love this dog, but I hate to see him suffer so. I had my cat put down when he had the same condition, but my s-i-l thinks anyone who wants to euthanize him doesn't love him!
As for people, needless to say, I see this a lot. I don't think that a doctor can morally give a toxic dose (due to the Hippocratic oath), but there are certainly ways to overcome that. I know of one doctor who put an overdose of medication in a special cup for a client, warning her several times that it was a lethal dose. When she was ready, she took it. Most people who are sick know when they're going to die, and if they care to check out early, it should be their privilege.
Soccertom - I am thinking sympathetic thoughts for you right now. Hope mrs. soccertom was able to kiss it & make it go away! PS - you really didn't expect Baptists to maim, did you? :D
