Inexpensive lodging while in London

I'm gonna be over in May with my girlfriend and am looking for a bed and breakfast type lodging (for one week) cuz hotels are just too expensive. What are some good options/websites?

I stayed here (http://www.europahotellondon.co.uk/) last year for the CL Semi. Rate was 30GBP/night, including breakfast, for a single. (I booked through the smoothhound.co.uk site). I think you get the discount if you book for 5 or more nights. North London, quiet residential street, close to Tufnell Park station and two blocks from buses that go to Finsbury Park station. In fact, workers building the Emirates were staying there when I was there. Friendly staff, they even supplied me converters for my ipod and phone chargers.

I have no idea why people would choose to stay at budget places like this when with priceline you can get a 4* for about the same price and that is for a double occupancy. For the ManU match in January (granted it was January), I got the 4* Novotel Euston (it's more like a 3* US property though) for $65 a night, double occupancy.

Why not just make a suggestion? I explained in my email why i liked it. It's in North London, quiet residential street, etc. I'm certain there could be better deals out there, but I liked this hotel, people were nice, free breakfast, quiet comfortable room.

I can recommend priceline BUT you have to really know what your are doing. I always stay at £200-400 hotels for under £75. When I was there this season I stayed in a £350/night room for $110 and a £200/night for $67. None of the priceline hotel deals I have had included breakfast but I don't care about that.
