Mirando a Paraguay -
93' - 8th
95' - 6th
97' - 7th
99' - 6th
01 - 10th
04 - 5th
avrg = 7th .... O sea que por lo general pasa como el primer mejor tercero
Mirando a Argentina -
93' - 3rd
95' - 3rd
97' - 9th
99' - 5th
01 - 1st
04 - 4th
avrg = 4.4 ...

mmmm Bradley already stated he will send a MLS based team to Copa America
Bradley will probably use alot of staters vs Ecuador and use the young guys for Guatemala

Yeah but we had B-teams with nothing to play for while Colombia had everything to play for, when it actually mattered we picked up results in Colombia (0-2, 1-1)

you and I both know, "B" team is a bit exaggerated. Also, you CAN'T give away games, just because you've qualified. You should always have a winning mentality. You think Argentina who usually has a WC tix by the 13th game of the WCQ, is going to take it easy and give up the remainder of the games. Anyway, this isn't Colombia vs Paraguay forum...yet;)
btw, LOOKING AT THAT "B" team as you call it, They sure look like Paraguay's WC team to me::cool:

Santa Cruz, Haedo Valdez, Carlos Paredes, Carlos Gamarra, Delio Toledo, Paulo Da Silva, and Diego Gavilan, where our key players that missed the Colombia game.. thats more then half the starting team, so i would call it a B-team.
I'm just stating that Paraguay picked up the points they needed vs Colombia in Colombia (a win and a draw) when both teams had starting lineups and both had something to play for.

For those interested that US roster is the closest thing to an "A" team callup we've had in a while, other then Mastroeni and Convey (both out due to injury) thats basically it. That being said I HIGHLY doubt even half of this roster will be called in for the Copa America, its probably gonna our roster for the Gold Cup, and Bradley will use the Copa America to give some younger/less experienced players the experience of playing against high level competition.
I'm not happy about it but its probably whats gonna happen.

Those are our new "3rd Jerseys"......I wouldn't expect to see them worn at Gold Cup or Copa America....in fact I'd be surprised if they ever wore them again.
(How many times in the mid to late 90's (95-98) did we wear that baby/powder/sky(?) blue 3rd jersey we had then?....not very often.)
Our home kit is still the white and our away kit is still the navy blue.

The US announced the Gold Cup roster
http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_281956.html
It seems that Bradley will not be balancing the squad between the two tourney's, all the first choice players (other then injured players) are going ot the Gold Cup. I think everyone on the US boards (including myself) are now very worried on who the hell will go the the Copa. Depending on who goes it could get really ugly for us especially against Argentina, we may see a lot of new players getting their first ever callups and caps.

according to Bradley it is a balanced squad... I think ALL will be based on Gold Cup. If the US fails to make it to the semis, there's no way he can pull off a 'sad side' for Copa.

Gardner asked about players in both tournaments - he wants names.
Long, long pause from Bradley.
"I'll mention . . ." then he says, "No, it's best not give specific names, but it's more than a handful of players and it's both MLS and European players."
Gardner presses, Bob finally coughs up specifics on "8-12 players are involved."
Gardener can't hear him and Bob ends up repeating the number twice, practically yelling it the last time.
Bob Holtzman of the Daily Breeze just asked about Landon Donovan playing in both tournaments.
"There's a group of players that are on both rosters. We all understand it's our responsibility to put together a good roster for both tournaments. We understand that it makes for a difficult calender, but the discussions that have gone on across the board."

according to Bradley it is a balanced squad...
By balanced I mean, I was hoping to see half of the A team players play one tourney and the other half the other. Making 8-12 players play two tourneys so close together with so little rest is not good, regardless if its our best players on not if they have no rest they'll be worthless.

point is well taken. But let's look at the competition for what it is:
AT MOST, they will play 6 matches - 3 for group play, QF, SF, FINAL
They're group is ok but they should breeze through:
Head to Head results:
vs Guatemala - Since 1990 - USA 5 WINS 3 DRAWS 0 LOSS
vs T & T - Since 1981 - USA 13 WINS 3 DRAWS 1 LOSS (1995 friendly)
vs El Salvador - Since 1995 - USA 5 WINS 0 DRAWS 0 LOSS
So you figure by the time they play against ES they'll already be in the next round, which will mean that Bradley will be able to try some alternate players.
The winner of their group (Again, 99.99% US), plays the 3rd place team from Group A or C, either way it can be as easy as facing Guadalupe which will be a one-sided match or Mexico (which would mean they would have to come in 3rd...likely not happening), in which case they may be eliminated.
Bottomline, if the US was starting with their tough group in Copa and then head over to Gold Cup I could understand the exhaustion factor a bit more.
IF they make the finals, they'll be playing Argentina in 4 days. If they make it to the semis, they have a full 7 days to prepare, which is a decent amount of time in professional football.
I think they'll be fine....some will be better then others but it's a fairly young squad and the one thing the US has over most nations in Concacaf/Conmebol is conditioning.
If you look at the Colombian team in Copa for example, one of the US group opponents, they're playing in the Kirin Cup in June (2 games) and then play South Africa on June 22nd before going to Copa America. They have 3 guys currently starting in Pachuca and that are in the Mexican final on Sunday (Chitiva, Mosquera, Calero) + they have players currently in the semifinals of Copa Libertadores (Cucuta), so they'll be fairly tired as well. But all these players are hoping to make the NT team, as Conmebol WCqualifiers start in Sept/Oct!

I'm not worried about teh competition i think everyone knows the final will involve the US, Mex, or CR. The point is 6 games in 18 day is ridiculous, regardless who your playing your gonna be dead tired at the end of that stretch. Take into account teh travel to Venezuela that would leave maybe 2-3 days before they play Argentina, we can be as optimistic as possible but the reality is thats no where near enough rest, Bradley made a poor decision during his roster selection.

again,6 games (at most, ONLY IF they reach finals0 --
GC - June 6th - June 24th -- That's 18 days --- or about 1 game every 3 days - same as a WC tourney minus the rigurous competition... Look, I'm not saying it's going to be easy or hard, but I give Kudos to the USSF for at least not backing out of the tourney. This is the the type of competitive environment that the USMNT needs in order to raise it's stock. It happens at club level, when teams are playing club league and Copa Libertadores for example - you'll have 2-3 matches PER WEEK for as long as 4 months...
