Maybe we could sell it to the Football League in England and plow the profits into our new stadium...

Excerpt:

'If we are going to go Americanised we are going to have all these girls waving things every time there is a goal,' he added.

Eww.

I think this is a horrible idea. Of all places to break the traditions of the game, ENGLAND?? I hope this doesn't happen.

Before you asked this my top five potential locations for the shootout clock:

1. The bowels of RFK.
2. Kevin Payne's garage/basement.
3. JH6's garage/basement.
4. Somewhere on the Mathai Estate.
5. Sunil Gulati's underground bunker.

Yeah, well, it'd be (4) if I didn't already have so much CRAP around that I need to get rid of.

A real live shootout clock would be very nice to have. One day I may make a real offer to DCU for it.

If I thought KP would consider selling it, I would make an offer for it. I have a storage unit :)

Doesn't the clock count down from 25 seconds?

That should work...

In "Once in a Lifetime" Johann Cruyff said that was his favorite thing about NASL. Great idea, he said. Like to see the world adopt it. I choked on my soda.

My position is that IF YOU MUST HAVE A WINNER, then I greatly prefer the MLS-style shotout to penalty kicks. I just don't see why regular-season games need a winner.

I wouldn't be so quick - Big Rob is an Olympic quality athlete.

Besides, we have Oscar, Chico (not able to play GK anytime soon), Srdan, couple of gringo elders (ok, so we lose on those two ;)).

But why just the elders? Do you want the SE leadership team? Kim, Nicole, Jessica and probably the worse player, Dave (sorry Dave had to throw you under the bus that you had the fender bender).

Well, if we aren't going to limit it to just leadership, we could just throw the SE WISL Saturday First Division team out there.

we'll match your 1st Div with the BB championship north team!

again, not saying playing - shootout! Even fat guys can run 35 yards (heck run 20 yards and kick the ball the other 15!)

Er, yeah, and by holding this event we could guarantee them more inpatient visits...
