So I just watched Gol TV's "Soccer America" or "American Soccer" (or whatever the hell it was called).

Had a fun interview with Bobby Boswell and Facundo Erpen. Facu's English is a lot better than I thought it would be. He was a little uncomfortable, I think, but didn't need a translator. Was fun to watch. Go Gol TV :)

Was fun to watch.well din't need might be techncally right, but I wish I'd have had my CC turned on (doubt the show is CC'd). He feels comfortable enough to talk fast and he lost me a few times.

It was a good interview, razzed Bozilla about Cosmo a bit, let the two spout sports clichés about trying to improve as players every practice and taking one game at a time :)

Remember, Phil had just stated before the break, that if 20K were in RFK, 17k would be rooting for Chivas .... so Erpen may have looked uncomfortable because he was holding in the urge to take out Phil's leg with a sweeping tackle :)
Or it was the cameras ;)

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. I maybe caught 30% of what Erpen said, and maybe 60% of what Bozilla said. I thought the problem was that my volume was down and the baby was shrieking (he's lately decided he doesn't like going to sleep at night). The combination was difficult.

Have you tried saying "Stop acting like a baby!" accompanied by a withering glare?

I understand that might be effective.

Naw, he's not quite six months old. He's been sleeping the night through since 2 months (and even before that he would only wake up for food and then go right back to bed). Problem is that lately he sees us awake and doesn't want to be exiled to sleep when we (my wife and I) are obviously doing something interesting (watching the food channel). Once he gets to sleep he's fine.

I was holding in the same urge. I'm such an idiot I yelled at my TV when he said that.

And try this on for size ...

Ray Hudson : MLS :: Dick Vitale : NCAA hoops

The guy just jabbers. When he's doing a game he's occasionally entertaining. When he's in the studio, it's just brutal.

You're sleep-deprived. I'll blame that for ruining a perfectly good joke... :)

Maybe he was screaming because you had the volume down too low and he couldn't hear Bozilla and Erpen?

True story: When my wife and I are trying to get our baby daughter to fall asleep, we'll sing her DC United supporters' songs. Dale Oh and Vamos United work well; Dale mi Corazon not so much.

Wife yelled at me the few times I tried vamos united and dale oh. Very sad. My son does love watching football games with me, though. Get exited, jumps up and down (well, bobbles up and down) and generally manages to hit me in the nads at least once every 20 minutes. He looks cute in his DC United shirt (we have two of 'em for him, one in black, one in white).

I'm such an idiot I yelled at my TV when he said that.I hope yelling at your TV when it involves sports doesn't make you an idiot, but just in case, my response should just read:
Drrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Call me crazy, I like Ray.

Dale Oh and Vamos United work well; Dale mi Corazon not so much.We did the same to calm my grandson. He loved the chants and bounced right along. Or flung his arms (so not good while he's eating the strained peas).....

Have you all ever considered that strained peas taste like CRAP?!?!?

What sucks more is that we have to act like we like it so the baby can eat it. Rarely works, but my sister would throw a fit if we put a bad showing for healthy food... :(

My 5 month old - see avatar - is going through the don't want to sleep thing right now too.

Completely unrelated - where does one find baby sized dc united clothes? I was going to make my own but Adidas (who has license rights to all MLS merch) said no.

They have sold baby DCU stuff in the stadium in the past - but I wouldn't expect to see anything until April or May.

Shame you weren't around when Richie Williams played for us. :)

I've looked around for kid/infant DCU stuff too for gifts. Haven't had any luck.

Dark blue, SPORT spelled out across the front of the shirt with the S on the right sleeve, POR across the center and the T on the left sleeve. SPORT. Love it. Better than Drogba's t-shirt that said "Hip-Hop."

I bought two baby sized outfits at RFK. Good stuff, though they don't fit newborns. More like 4+ months.
