I went ahead and signed up as being interested. Hopefully we can set up some sort of ride-along program since I'll be coming in from North Montco. That is as long as I can drop about 10 pounds and add some stamina. Turning 30 last month sucked. :)

me and B76 make 4 ... which is why we're putting this off until the fall, so we can all get fit.

SP, you're gonna have a helluva commute. ;)

Im planning on being in the area by fall, and I'd like to play, moreso to be part of a team again. I haven't ever really played soccer, so I have no idea where I'd go. Obviously wouldn't have the skills for forward, I know Dave is a keeper, plus I'd be no good at that either. So I just put defender, but this is all hinging on whether I'm back in the area.

Ok, so I see there are already a bunch of defenders, I could play mid, I'd assume, if need be, Im young and would love the oppurtunity to get into better shape

BTW
The league that the team will play in is called the Casa League. Their website is www.phillysoccer.org. Great site with lots of info.

Also, each team is allowed to be co-ed although they don't have to be.

1 keeper, 5 defenders, 1 midfielder, and 2 forwards

Is the large number of defenders a direct correlation to the fact that a lot of us are concerned about our fitness levels? :)

up to 10 now ... we can almost field a whole team.

1 keeper, 6 defenders, 1 midfielder, and 2 forwards

so i guess we COULD play a 6-1-2 ... i wonder how many clean sheets we'd have?

If you get more than 20, might be time to think about TWO teams. :)

I think 2 teams is still tuff... with fitness level, our busy lives. It is good to have backups for people who can't make it. I showed interest but not sure if I will be able to play depending on the times. I coach a youth team that takes up my saturdays for the most part.

I used generally to be a defender, but I signed up as a mid since they seem needed and I don't much care. :)
