Let's see if I can get this table correct this time
Team W-D-L PTS GF GA GD
Des Moines 3-0-0 9 5 1 +4
St. Louis 2-0-1 6 8 3 +4
Kansas City 2-0-1 6 5 2 +3
Indiana 1-1-0 4 3 1+2
Mid Michigan 1-0-0 3 2 1 +1
West Michigan 1-0-0 3 2 1 +1
Kalamazoo 1-0-1 3 5 3 +3
Chicago 1-0-1 3 5 2 +1
Fort Wayne 1-0-2 3 3 5 -2
Toledo 0-1-1 1 2 5 -3
Columbus 0-0-1 0 1 2 -1
Boulder Rapids 0-0-1 0 0 2 -2
Wisconsin 0-0-1 0 0 4 -3
Sioux Falls 0-0-3 0 2 11 -6
Analysis:
Des Moines is sitting nicely uptop with a 3-0-0 record. However, it's not a lock by any means. A win on Saturday versus Wisconsin is a must. They need to up that +4 goal differential. Wisconsin plays the night before the Menace against Souix Falls, Menace don't play prior to their match with Souix Falls. A loss or draw would allow multiple teams back into things. Even with a Menace win Mid Michigan and West Michigan can still make it to the top because they just started their season and only have 1 game played. Souix Falls, Toledo, Fort Wayne mathamatically cannot reach the top.

Analysis: Kansas City and Kalamazoo keeps their chances to top the table alive. However, Kansas City's qualifying is over and kalamazoo has one match left. Both need a Menace loss and hope goal differential is in their favor. Columbus and Boulder now both move to 0-2 putting their chances away for the year.

Of the four remaing teams (three have a possible 12 points, one a possible 10), they don't play each other. (So it might end up a case where they have 12-12-12-10 at the end.) Also, for that reason, I don't see any 9-possible-point teams climbing over them.
A question: I see the parenthesised numbers after the division names "CENTRAL GROUP (2), EASTERN GROUP (2), SOUTHERN GROUP (1), WESTERN GROUP (1)." Does that mean that they have already decided how many teams make the tournament from each division?
Also, notice the "TBGF/TBGD" columns. These are "tie-breaker goals for/differential." To quote from the tie-breaker page ( http://www.uslsoccer.com/aboutusl/rules/index_E.html ) : Standings tiebreakers
The breaking of ties in the final standings, playoffs and finals is accomplished by applying the following criteria, in order of importance:
1. Head-to-head record based on total points in League games.*
2. Total wins in League games.
3. Goal difference in League games.
4. Goals scored in League games.
...
*** US Open Cup Qualifying: For US Open Cup qualifying purposes only, tiebreakers 3 and 4 for the PDL will have a cap of +/- 3 per game.
This prevents a case where a team can blast a team out of the water to win a bid on goal differential. (I know in one year, it helped the Mid-Michigan Bucks where they won their last game 9-0, and in one year, it hurt the Bucks.) This new rule smooths out that wrinkle. [So you see Wisconsing with an actual GD of -4, but a TBGD of -3, and St. Loius has actual goals of (8, 5, +3), but a TBGF/TBGD listing of (7, +4).]
BTW, I caught the end of yesterday's MMBucks-Toledo game. Exciting. Up 2-1, Toledo had a man sent off. The Bucks pressed for the last 20 minutes just missing the post on a few occasions, and got the leveling goal in the last minute of stoppage time. They won in the 106th minute (four minutes from a draw). So the PDL's most successful Open Cup team is still in the running.

Correct, that number is the number of teams from each conference that qualify. There are no wildcards this year,

Tonight's draw between Kalamazoo and Mid Michigan mathamatically elimates Kalamazoo and makes Mid Michigan's chances more difficult. However, for the Menace it means another win and GD. Same is true with West Michigan's 5-0 loss to Toledo. Thank you to Kalamazoo and Toledo. :)

So Z means eliminated, I assume? The standings look aesthetically weird.

"makes Mid Michigan's chances more difficult??" If they win their last game, they clinched at least second place at ten points.
The Menance only need a draw to also clinch 10 points. If they lose, then they drop below Kansas City (and possibly other 9-point teams) in the "tiebreaker" TBGD. Then they are out if either Mid Mich or Indy get ten points.
There is no possiblity for three teams to get ten points. (Either Mid Mich or Indy can get ten, but not both.)
From http://www.uslsoccer.com/home/57005.html
Quote: "PDL Central qualifying race…
With two berths on the line, eight teams are still alive to advance from the Central group with the Des Moines Menace leading the way with nine points and a home match against the winless Wisconsin Rebels, who have been outscored 15-2 in their four league games thus far.
The Monday showdown between the Mid Michigan Bucks and Indiana Invaders will likely determine the second berth. The Bucks currently sit with seven points through three games and a win against the Invaders, the only other team who can reach the 10-point mark, would guarantee them a berth. Indiana needs a win at Columbus Saturday to give them a shot to qualify on Monday in a head-to-head battle for the berth.
Should Des Moines falter against Wisconsin or the Bucks and Invaders finish in a draw, the St. Louis Strikers, Chicago Fire Reserves, West Michigan Edge and, of all teams, Wisconsin could come into play with nine points as their possible targets."

My bad, I didn't see they played each other.

Oh correct, a loss would mess up the Menace chances. However, I'm confident on a victory over Wisconsin.
"...against the winless Wisconsin Rebels, who have been outscored 15-2 in their four league games thus far."
Plus we have a history of rocking Wisconsin. Last year we beat them 8-0 and 6-0.

It's my bad, where in an earlier post I said that the top teams don't play each other, when of course Mid Mich and Indy will play.
Plus, it sounds like Wisonsin is due!!! (o.k...due for another thrashing... but if that USL article doesn't have the word JINX written all over it...)

Wisconsin lost 4-0 last night to Souix Falls and have to turn around and play us tonight. :D

Analysis: Wisconsin is officially eliminated (like we didn't see that coming!) after being spanked by the formerly 0-3 Sioux Falls by a score of 4-0. Des Moines Menace wannabes West Michigan improved their chances by beating an already eliminated Ft Wayne 3-2. Chicago put itself in a better position after removing St Louis' chances by beating them 4-1.
Tonights matches: Columbus vs Indiana... Columbus is already eliminated but Indiana, while a draw still keeps them in the hunt, a win is much bettter as only them and Mid Michigan can claim ten points. And their final match is against each other. Mid Michigan already has 7 points on three games and is just waiting for it's match with Indiana on Monday.
Des Moines and Wisconsin is the other. No two ways about this. The Menace should clinch an Open Cup spot tonight as Wisconsin is the Central's worst team, as mentioned above.
