There have been many rumors on who is suppose to be named to it. I would expect the roster to be officially named early next week.

What the hell, I'll speculate:

GK: Cannon/Rimando (each will play a half)
CB: Petke
CB: Agoos
CB: Vanney
RM: Olsen/Stewart
DM: Mulrooney
DM: Corrales
LM: E. Lewis
AM: Convey
F: Donovan
F: Ching

Bench

Rimando
Stewart
Quaranta
Kirovski
C.J. Brown
Onyewu

Not exactly the A-squad, though Donovan and Ching have worked well together thus far. I don't think Berhalter or Cherundolo will be available. Conor Casey should be, but probably won't get called in.

Any red-carded players of note for MLS next weekend? I checked and US players red-carded are Ryan Suarez, C.J. Brown and Joey DiGiamarino. C.J. Brown might actually get a call, doubtful on the others. Don't know about point accumulations (poor timing with Mastroeni missing this week instead of next week).

I think Suarez would have a better chance of getting a call than Brown. But I doubt Bruce will call in red-carded players at all...

We already know:

Cannon
Rimando
Agoos
Petke
Convey
Corrales
Olsen
Stewart
Mulrooney
Donovan
Ching
Quaranta

I imagine the rest of the Euro contingent will look something like this:

Keller
Barrett
Berhalter
Gibbs
Cherundolo
Reyna (is he healthy?)
O'Brien
Lewis
Kirovski (I wouldn't call him up, but I think BA will)

Bruce has been open about Suarez not figuring into his plans, plus I think Bruce might be extending the courtesy to him that if the opportunity arises, he might want to see whether he could fit into Uruguay's plans.

A cap for Suarez when Bruce has no future plans for him wouldn't be doing much for him.

It looks like we might actually be short of defenders (though Corrales and Mulrooney have played there) so I wouldn't be surprised if he called C.J. Brown in.

I would love to see Obrien in the middle with Convey at left and Beasley at right. Armas can play defensive mid. Donovan and McBride at forward.

CJ is available, and aside from his two doofus bookings last night has played well enough to rate a courtesy call up. Besides, he comes from the Bay Area.

Seriously, Ching is being called up? I thought it was just some pipedream from the San Jose boards.

The DC contingent was reported in the Washington Post, the San Jose players plus Cannon were reported in the SJMN.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that Quaranta was out with an abdominal strain that would keep him out for several weeks. Anyone have any more info on that?

If it is true that Arena will call in only MLS players from clubs that are off the previous weekend, then provided Quaranta is not included in the 12 (therefore 10 MLS players and Cannon), Arena might call in an additional 7 or more Yanks Abroad from the pool of Kirovski, Lewis, O'Brien, Cherundolo, Berhalter, Barrett, Gibbs, Vanney, and Hahnemann.

I'd guess that the roster will be released tomorrow.

Why not?

Ching is a lot better than Quaranta. If Santino is called up, why not Ching?

Santino didn't play on Saturday because of an amdominal (or groin, conflicting reports)injury...those things can linger for a long time.

Barrett won't be getting called in from the middle of his season in Europe.
