i just watched 300..what beautiful artwork, style and acting and what a horrible inaccuracy. Xerxes being portrayed as a feminine leader (There is virtually no evidence or even a hint in history of Xerxes being homo or have any gay leanings). Armies of monstrous creatures such as royal immortals and the executioner. while i understand that this movie is based on a comic book, i still can't ignore the exaggeration. The exaggeration in persian's evil dead when all they were doing was what any other powerful empire would've done...capture the neighboring nations. Why is it that Alexander wasn't evil for he had done?
at the end it's just another hollwyood flick aimed at the blood thirsty audience who will ignore anything from Acting to script in order to have 2 hours of butchery.

I'm starting to get pissed off at all the Iranians bitching about 300. I think it's an awesome movie, but it's FICTIONAL. Some dude took the real battle, added a bunch of fictional elements, changed the numbers, and made a neat little comic. The comic now got turned into a movie.
It's not supposed to be a documentary of the Battle of Thermopylae. I for one am glad they even included Persians. Seeing as how the everyday man is ignorant of Persian history.

It's based off Frank Miller's Comic Book, and Frank Miller is known for well, exaggerating certain things.

I'd be pissed too if I was Iranian. But it was a fun movie. The movie definitely panders to the political climate but it was not ignorance but a very shrewd and calculated move to make money. Welcome to the free market economy.

I saw History chanel show Battel Thermpyle. Said Greek got wood sheild cover bronze and lether, Greek armor bronze and Greek spear was strong stuff.
Persian army got linen armor, shield is wiker and bows made of some weak wood. So close battle Persian light infantry wasnt match Greek heavy infantry in close quarter.
1st line Greek spearmen lock shield, thrust spear and kill tite pack Persin infantry. 2nd line Greek spearmen shift half step left and thrust spear over shoulder of 1st line Greek spearmen.

I saw the documentry too, It also said that the battle field was narrow and it didnt matter how many army you had, you could have few numbers upfront to fight, so persian would die and greek would get tired. And as it was mentioned greek's weapons were more advanced than the persians'.

Im cracking up on how all persians are overexaggerating this movie. its hollywood ppl! when was the last time they were nice to any race. its a fictional , money maker action movie, which has historic names but no historic references whatsoever. Get OVER it
the more we talk about it, the more ppl think that persians are ignorant and outa touch with reality!
and dont go making signs condemning the movie!
