Well. At least nobody died.

BTW, is it just me, or does anybody else feel like baseball bats shouldn't be so widely sold in England? Yes I understand that it's played over there a little bit but come on. You know 90% of the bats sold must be of the intent to be used as a weapon.

And what's using hockey sticks? Doesn't seem a terribly effective fighting tool. Awkward if anything.

 What do u mean? U think there are a lack of objects to hurt people with? I mean, maybe cricket bats next, or something. And hockey sticks hurt. Trust me.:D

Anyway, I agree with u, atleast nobody died. It's real shame this happened after a gg like that.

Hockey stick in England = Field hockey in USA much easier to hit people with then ice hockey stick.

Starange i thought something like this would happen, when an visiting American ased about getting tickets for this game on another thread I said that this was one of the few games the police still get the dogs out for.

There is a lot of history between Chelsea and Tottenham.

I hear ya. It's just that cricket bats aren't a very good offensive weapon because of their shape. Not saying I would want to be hit with one mind you. Of course there will never be a lack of objects to hurt people with. But that doesn't mean incident like that couldn't have easily been fatal if you could pick up a pistol in a sporting goods store. I may have bagged on a hockey sticks as a weapon but I'd take a beating with one of those over a bullet in the gut any day of the week.

LOL OK didn't think of that. That makes a lot more sense now.

I don't think you want a beating with my Gryphon Hockey stick :D

Maybe they should just ban steel bats... or better yet, softball altogether.

How about normal gang-gun warfare like the rest of the developed world.

guns are lame...nothing quite like sticking a chisel in a human skull ...anyways who cares what these morons do as long as they dont involve others and they all agree to meet and beat the crap out of each other...what a hobby eh?....when they grow up they'll become participants in battle reenactments trying to obtain medieval authenticity - like Clan ;)

btw - the game was 3-3, we know that there were seven stabbings, but what was the score?

Unfortunately a bunch of "normal" people at the White Horse got rolled too. When it kicks off at a place filled with civilians, that sucks.

Hopefully if there's a "rematch" on the 19th they'll be kind enough to find somewhere more secluded.

This conversation made me laugh a lot.

Either way, whether you prefer blunt pain or guns, i think we can agree that stabbing someone is about a lame and weak as methods of causing serious injury get.

I'm just pissed it happened at one of my favorite pubs! Nice and close to the tube station, hell of a good selection of ales, and decent food. Plus, the White Horse is hardly what I'd call a diehard Chelsea FC pub. I wonder if that's why it was picked as opposed to SOBar or one of the other bigger Chelsea pubs...
