Let's all take a stab shall we? Who will be the 24 players in camp? Who would you call up? This of course brings up the idea of whether this will be a European-only camp or a joint MLS/Euro camp?

I'm looking at a mostly-European camp. Maybe completely a Euro camp.

Goalkeepers
Tim Howard - Everton
Joe Cannon - LA Galaxy
Marcus Hahnemann - Reading FC

Defenders
Steve Cherundolo - Hannover 96
Heath Pearce - FC Nordsjaelland
Carlos Bocanegra - Fulham FC
Jay Demerit - Watford
Oguchi Onyewu - Newcastle United
Jonathan Spector - West Hame United
Frankie Simek - Sheffield Wednesday

Midfielders
Clint Dempsey - Fulham FC
Demarcus Beasley - Manchester City
Benny Feilhaber - Hamburg SV II
Landon Donovan - LA Galaxy
Eddie Lewis - Leeds United
Justin Mapp - Chicago Fire
Pablo Mastoeni - Colorado Rapids
Chris Rolfe - Chicago Fire
Kyle Beckerman - Colorado Rapids

Fowards
Josh Wolff - TSV Munich 1860
Kamani Hill - VfL Wolfsburg
Charlie Davies - Hammarby IF
Kenny Cooper - FC Dallas 96
Taylor Twellman - New England Revolution

Have I missed any glaring omissions? I left off All DC United and Houston Dynamo players because this game will fall between their Champions Cup Semifinal matchups (so no Carrol, Clark, etc). No Bornstein due to injury. No Bradley, Ferrari, Smith, or Zimmermann due to the fact that they are gearing up for the U-20 World Cup. Give Rolfe a chance to actually play in the midfield before we throw him back on the scrap heap. I have a feeling we won't see many of our Scandanavian Yanks (besides Pearce and MAYBE Davies) - so no Califf, Russell, White, Brown, or Borches. We might see Berhalter, but our depth at Defender in general and CB in particular makes me doubt it. We could see Kasey too - But I think that'll be up to him.

Hill and Davies will not be called up, and Lewis is done with the nats. Feilhaber isn't even playing with the first team any more, while nothing suggests Simek will suddenly get a call.

I think that list looks about right. Bornstein is still hurt right? I don't think we'll see Wolff or Hill though, one is too old, and I don't know if Bradley is looking in the direction of Hill. I wouldn't be surprise to see and Esky or something to that nature though...

Feilhaber because Clark and Carroll and the U-20 guys won't be available.

What are Clark and Carroll doing?

Perhaps someone could update Eskandarian's health status ...

....

Across the country in Florida, Toronto opened its second camp in the Sunshine State with a 4-0 win against UConn. Former D.C. United striker Alecko Eskandarian started the scoring in the 27th minute, though the 2004 MLS Cup MVP was forced to the sidelines just five minutes later, injuring his calf in a vicious tackle at midfield.

There's no reason why any players for DC or Houston can't participate in this camp. Chances are they'd be released after the Ecuador game on the 25th...the second legs of the CC don't start until April 3rd...over a week later. The Dynamo don't play until the 5th.

For sure DC players would be released after Guatemala...I could see Houston players staying for both...in fact a chance to get 90 competitive minutes without any over-extensive travel (the Guatemala game is in Dallas) will probably be looked on as a plus by their managers. Certainly Brian Ching needs the minutes, at the very least.

Mike Bradley will be in camp.

GK (3): Howard, Hahneman, Reis
D (8): Onyewu, Bocanegra, Conrad, Demerit, Cherundolo, Spector, Pearce, Albright
M (8): Mastroeni, Clark, Feilhaber, Carroll, Dempsey, Beasley, Mapp, Donovan
S (5): Twellman, Ching, Wolff*, Rolfe, Johnson

*Cooper to come in if Wolff can't go.

No surprises here. Bradley will probably want to acquaint himself with the national team regulars like Onyewu and Cherundolo before he starts calling in too many new faces.

And, no, I don't think he should be continuing to call up Eddie Johnson, but he will.

What are Clark and Carroll doing? Both players are busy in the Concacaf Champions Cup. If Bradley calls either of them up, he is a total moron.

Bradley stated that to the best of his knowledge he was not going to be brought into camp. Rogen visted family in Holland this weekend and caught two of his games. The U-20's will apparently have a friendly during the international break but the opponent has yet to be determined.

My bad I read in another thread that he'd be called in, having read the person's source I can see its up in the air at best.

I disagree, and offered my reasoning above.

Remember that on BS, name-calling is considered to be adequate and sufficient reasoning. Not by me, but by many, obviously.

Anyway, I think it's natural and appropriate for Bradley to explore the preferences of the players and their clubs and act accordingly. I don't see a blanket ban on calling DC or Houston players - assuming Bradley really needs/wants them for these friendlies - but I see plenty of leeway to excuse a player or two, certainly.

I would like to see a Clark-Feilhaber pairing ...

As usual, Tim and I are on the same page here.

I think a Clark-Feilhaber pairing is the ideal one. Clark covers so much ground, and from what I remember of Benny from the U-20 tournament he is so composed on the ball. They can both shoot from distance, and one can assume Benny learned how to defend very quickly in the Bundesliga. It would offer a more balanced midfield than Clark-Mastroeni and a more complete midfield than Mastroeni-Donovan.

Plus, they are both young. :p

Chances are though, we'll see Mastroeni-Clark and very little possession as we grind the midfield down to a halt...until we start getting bookings or missing on lunging tackles.

But the name calling should at least be original and entertaining. Calling someone a moron is so moronic (apologies for the lack of orginality).

That's ture. I have no idea why that would make a difference, though.

Having said that, I think I would be surprised if he gets the call. Which, to me, is inexcusable. I just have a feeling.

Who I would call in:

GK: Howard, Cannon, Hahnemann, Reis

D: Cherundolo, Spector, Onyewu, Bocanegra, Conrad, Parkhurst, Boswell, Pearce

M: Dempsey, Beasley, Clark, Feilhaber, Mapp, Beckerman, Mullan, Davis

F: Cooper, Johnson, Donovan, Davies

Like I said, though, I doubt Feilhaber will be called in, and I'm sure Davies won't either.

 You may very well be right that Feilhaber will not be called in, so I'll have to go to my creative well and see what original and funny names I can find to call Coach Bradley- just in case. ;)

Feilhaber provides an instructive example of one of many fault lines that exist here on BS. For many, Bradley's job is to look around and see which players are 'getting it done' with their respective clubs and call them into camp. Feilhaber's not getting it done - he's with HSV II right now - so no call up for him.

For me, it's not nearly so simple, and in Feilhaber's case I'm certainly not waiting on HSV to promote Feilhaber to the first team (who knows when). I'm reaching out today - actually the letter went out last week - and calling him into camp. Not this summer, now.

I'm thinking about boycotting the national team until Bradley or anybody is named the actual coach.

Yeah, right. Like there will be anything else on the telly on the 25th and 28th.
