Yeah, the poster's finding Inter's run to the title more testing than Manchester United's, kinda sums the credibility up...
Which poster was this? Must be a page or two back.
Oh and a big welcome to the Manchester United Fan Club.
Teso, you've critisized me for not reading what you've said and yet you need to follow the same advice. Also, you need to stop making all these assumptions. It's causing you to take a lot of what I'm writing out of context.
A simple question for you. How many of Figo's games did you watch in the last season? It appears to me that you are relying a lot on stats which, in my opinion, rarely tell the whole story.

Read what I have posted and try to refute anything contained in them. You cannot simply ignore what doesn't suit you and post further questions instead of any answers at all.

Nah.
It's impossible to discuss this reasonably with you since you have shown everyone that you have not watched very much of Figo and are relying on goals/assists stats. It's laughable because you were the one telling me I had not seen enough of Giggs.

If we are making an XI of our generation then Giggs and Figo would be the two wingers.
Luis Figo is the best winger of our generation and Giggs a close second. Both are locks when doing a best XI in recent times. I rate Giggs highly but Figo simply had it all and showed that against the biggest sides and particularly Europe. Watching Real Madrid in Europe was all about watching Figo torment whatever defense he was up against and it was a joy to behold, although Manchester United fans must be feeling sick about now. When you look back at highlights of his career you see him running at top speed with the ball straight at defenders, going this way and that, changing feet, nutmegs, doing tricks and then either setting something up or finishing it himself (either feet, inside or outside, chips, headers, drives, volleys, flicks, freekicks). That's before you take into account his achievements, the records he has set or the influence had over his entire career. The only blotch on his record is that while inspiring and leading Portugal to one final and two semi-final appearances in the World and European Cups, he was unable to secure them the tropies. Unfortunately he is often regarded as the second best winger of our generation by Manchester United Fans. Any who wants a refresher on the type of player Figo is and was should wander over to youtube. Christiano Ronaldo has a lot to learn.
That's not even taking into account his great form this season. No doubt the Manchester United brigade will put forward their defense of Giggs and I will enjoy reading it. The debates usually come down to Giggs fans being upset that he was unable to inspire Wales to any significant competitions or achievements, while at the same time discounting Figo's involvement with Portugal. They feel that comparing the international achievements of the players is unfair (which is the reason the fans of Giggs often turn the debate into that). Either way they are both superb players and hopefully the debate will remember that and not turn into a slagging match.
FYP on the 1st page.
Funny how it makes sense this way too.

Except that it clearly doesn't because numerous parts of it have nothing to do with Figo (even if you switch the names) and Figo did not have anywhere near the season Giggs had last year. You have still failed to refute any of my posts and questions in relation to Figo and last season in particular. Your entire defense centres around 'who cares about Giggs and how much of Figo have seen'. It's more than pathetic. I'm getting really tired of arguing with Figo fanboys. I know who Figo is and what he can do, which is why I give him the credit he clearly deserves. Sadly people like you flatly resuse to do likewise for Giggs, which makes your position not only laughable but completely untenable. The fact the my butchered post is the most 'balanced' you have been speaks volumes. Now go back, read through all of my posts and then try to refute any of them. You have no done so thus far because your are simply incapable of doing so. I eagerly await your next attempt to sidestep the issue and carry on your fine tradition of contributing nothing of note to this thread.

You've contributed nothing. Your credibility was never established in this thread. Here's a little gift for you and this thread, courtesy of Figo.

1. Read it again. All parts are correct.
2. Your last statement once again highlights that you did not watch enough of Figo last season. You are doing a good job of pointing this out to everyone.

1. No they are not.
2. Thanks once again for comprehensively proving that what I stated about you was correct.
MM, if you have nothing to offer this thread then simply stop posting. There is little point in anyone refuting your points because you simply spit the dummy and repeatedly insist that no-one has watched Figo. Grow up and try to post one serious and factually accurate response to any of my posts. You could simply start with a single post because at least then you will finally be contributing to the discussion and showing that there is still hope for you yet.

Breathe... everything is going to be ok.
P.S. You are the king of making statments without properly backing them up. Then you expect other people to present the evidence for you instead doing the research yourself. When people do present any evidence, you ignore it, twist what they wrote, then make a few more opinionated statements without providing any form of evidence. This has been brought to your attention before in your history at this forum and yet you refuse to change.
Anyone who would like an example of this can turn their attention to "the ultimate soccer player to walk the earth" thread and read the first few pages where you are effectively ripped to shreads and silenced because you refuse to do the research on your own.

Giggs is clearly the better footballer as of now.
It's also clear that you don't watch Luis Figo at Inter Milan.
Giggs may be the better footballer but it isn't "clearly" so.
EDIT: My vote goes to Ryan Giggs. Giggs is IMO the ideal of a winger. It is a shame that he has never gotten the credit that he deserves.
However, I do think that Figo is the more technically skilled player after watching him successfully change his style and position from the wing to the "hole". He has shown his versatility and class, and IMO is the better player in that role.

Giggs has also played in countless positions over the course of his career, as I explained prevously. I'd also wager that he has successfully played in more positions than Figo has done.
