I wouldn't say that Figo had anywhere near the second best passing in the world at anytime. Scholes, Beckham, Bergkamp, Del Piero all trump him in my book. Also, Giggs' passing this season has been immense. He has shown his ability to split defenses with a single pass. In no way was Figo's crossing better than that of Beckham and Giggs has always had brilliant crossing. I'll say that Figo has better vision but on the others it is very close.
Giggs slaps Figo with a trout on the dribbling front.

You obviously haven't watched Real Madrid then. Figo was always a masterfull passer and a crosser, better than Beckham, only second to zidane. I constantly watch the EPL since 2003 and in no way can Giggs even compare to Figo when it comes to passes or crosses. Scholes was/ is a very good passer, but i'd still have Figo over him.
Figo's end product is what makes him the best winger. He could slice defences but his ability to create chances for others was just as impresive if not more.

Since 2003?
Giggs was consistent for much of his career though his form slowly faded since 2002.

Yes since 2002. While before 2003 i couldn't catch many of their games in the league i still watched them in the CL and in the important games...
Giggs was and still is a tireless runner and a very good dribbler. But those alone do not make him the best winger.

This is a really great comparison because in thier prime you really cannot choose between them.
Leadership - Figo
Crossing - Figo
Pace - Giggs
Finishing - Figo
Passing - Figo
Ball Control - Giggs
Tackling/Defense - Giggs
Heart/Intangables - Giggs
Heading -Giggs
Slight edge to Giggs
At least that's my opinion, although its a toss up.

Not that I disagree with your verdict but...
Why does leadership matter? It counts to make you a better captain, not a better player.
Heart/Intangables - Giggs

I still consider Giggs to be a better crosser than Figo. Crossing and dribbling are the two most important skills for a winger.

Leadership doesn't make you a better player but it makes your team better. For instance if United had better leadership on the pitch in the first leg of the CL Roma match Scholes might not have lost his head and been sent off.

I wouldn't put that down to leadership. Even when Keane was around Scholes did stuff like that.

champions league - Ryan Giggs has one of those too.
spanish league - Ryan Giggs has 6 more league titles than Figo
spanish cup - Ryan Giggs has 2 more 'cups' than Figo
super cup - Ryan Giggs has one of those too.
italian league - see above
italian cup - see above
Ryan Giggs also has an Intercontinental Cup
Where to start:
Leagues: Figo has 4 League Trophies (5 if you include the 2005/2006 Italian season, and 6 if you include this years), Giggs has 8 (9 if they win this year).
Cups: Figo has won 2 spanish cups, 1 Portugese cup and 1 Italian cup. Giggs has won 4 FA cups and 2 League cups, however while other countries have 1 cup england has two.
Super cup: Figo has 2, Giggs 1.
Intercontinental cup: Both have 1.
Cup winners Cup: Figo has 1.
And Figo also won the U-20 world cup with Portugal.
So to say Giggs Achievements eclipse Figo's, is in my oppinion wrong.

Super cup: Figo has 2, Giggs 1. Figo wins.
Intercontinental cup: Both have 1. Draw.
Cup winners Cup: Figo has 1. Figo wins.
And Figo also won the U-20 world cup with Portugal. Irrelevant. How is Giggs supposed to win with Wales?
So to say Giggs Achievements eclipse Figo's, is in my oppinion wrong.
Figo has two, Giggs has two. However, Giggs wins on League (38 games) and cups (quite a few games) whereas Figo wins on CWC (quite a few games) and Super cups (one game).

What I dont get is that you say that the U-20 WC doesnt count for Figo. But that Giggs still has more cups than Figo. If Figo and Giggs were active the same amount of seasons, Giggs would have played twice as many domestic cups as Figo.
So Wales doesnt compete in the U-20 WC and shouldnt be compared there, but you'll happily add the League cup into the equation even tho you know Figo cant compete there.

I actually looked a proper list of team honours won by both of them. I've included them all so I suppose you can ignore my last post:
Giggs-Figo
Leagues
8-4
Youth Cups
1-1
Cups Within A Country
6-4
National Supercups
5-4
Intercontinental Cups
1-1
Champions Leagues
1-1
CWCs
0-1
European Super Cups
1-2
Same as before, it is a draw overall. However, the stuff that Giggs has won on, here, is more important.

2 of my favourite players ever. figo was my fave player around 2001-2 ish, i remember him demolishing Leeds in a CL gaame at elland road. he pretty much took them apart on his own. however i could not pick between him and giggs. both amazing players.

Giggs was the better dribbler, faster paced, better balanced, but he was also not the greatest crosser of a ball. Figo was a fully competent dribbler, not quite as good as Giggs, but also a very competent crosser of the ball. So he had the two things that a winger requires, whereas Giggs had just the one.
But, we mix in the extra details, such as Giggs greater medals haul, longer career, faster pace, better role model, preparedness to track back and defend as well as attack, which Figo was never a fan of, and i would say that i prefer Giggs in my side. True, Figo had an international career that Giggs could never have had with Wales (possibly could have eclipsed it with England but this is in the past), and also, due to Giggs loyalty, he never got the attention that a world record breaking transfer can bring you, though few doubt that if he had have been sold between 1993 and 1999, he could have challenged for this title. Furhtermore, Giggs played in a league where it has always been infinitely harder to perform and survive as a flair player than Figo, whose main time at the top was in spain, where flair players are far more protected than in the EPL. If Giggs had played for Real Madrid, or Juventus in the 90s/00s, few can argue that he would not have gone on to score even more goals, played even more matches (less injuries), and would have been even better than Figo in many respects.
Still, one on each wing, the Figo of 1998-2001 paired with the Giggs of 1996-1999, would be appealing.

Two of my favorite wingers since I began following this sport. If I had to choose the one I thought was capable of being better based solely on skill, Id take Figo, slightly.
But I do not think there is a right answer here.
Id rather have Giggs in my team though. Just personal preference.

Figo has no chance. Giggs is better. You only have to watch him and how ho plays with the ball
