View Full Version : best comedians
Who are the best stand-up comedians of all time? of today?
My faves.......Dennis Miller,George Carlin,Steven Wright,Bill Hicks.
I've only seen him once on tv but the guy that briefly had a show on VH1(Zach Galifanikis....sp?) was really funny.

To me, Dave Chapelle and Jim Breuer are the two funniest people around today.

You are half right. Breuer has the talent to do a great imitation of Joe Pesci, and that's where his talent ends.
I saw Eddie Izzard on HBO a while back and he was pretty funny.

Steven Wright is the funniest person I've ever seen, bar none.

I saw him on HBO last week and laughed a LOT.
Eddie Izzard is good. He even makes me laugh when he does his routine in French, and I don't know French.
Richard Pryor's 3 live stand-up films are among the funniest films of any kind ever made.

I used to like Steven Wright a LOT, but I've heard nothing new from him in a long time.
One of my absolute favorite current comedians is Lewis Black. He's amazing. I also like Dana Gould. You used to be able to see Lewis Black on The Daily Show on Comedy Central, I'm not sure if he still does that.

For a time I was the box office manager of a comedy club here in Chicago and got to see many, many comedians. Hicks killed every show.

Yeah, and Robin on coke was off the wall.
Bill Connally, too.
Besides finding her attractive, I also think Jeanine Grafallo (sp) is damn funny.
And, of course, there is always the Montey Python crew...

I saw Bill's last show at the Laff Stop in Austin. I nearly ruptured my spleen laughing. When he did his Rush Limbaugh bit I was *literally* ROFL! I mean I actually fell out of my chair!
If there is a heaven then Bill is up there keeping the place in stitches!
