Is that such a surprise?

Before this match, Bayern had beaten Real 6 times in 8 meetings over the last three seasons.

As long as Real does not take Bayern seriously and plays solid defence, Bayern will continue to dominate Real.

Spanish teams like Real play with their hearts;
German teams like Bayern play with their brains.

And that is why German teams have such a solid winning percentage against Spanish teams in Euro competitions through the years.

Bayern could have beaten Real 6 out of 8, but so what?

2000 semi-final Real
2001 semi-final Bayern
2002 quarter-final Real

I mean, look at 2000. Bayern won 3 out of 4, but got eliminated by Real. So winning X out of Y is not any issue at all. You have to win the one that counts.
