Have it on good authority from someone back home that he wants out of pompey as soon as possible, maybe this is why he does not seem interested at the moment.Shame because i think he could become a hell of a player.

Niko Kranjcar when you guys signed him all I could think of was COUP!

This guy has great ability and is a star on his national team (Croatia). I just think he has the potential to develop into a very effective player but he just can't seem to get a game in!

Happy to see him get a start and going someway to showing his ability ,maybe a good run in the side and he will show everyone why Pompey bought him.

Haven't seen him play for Croatia but he sure has never been impressive for Portsmouth, although this last game was one of his better ones.

Then again, I feel similarly apathetic towards two other admired-or-even-revered Pompey players, Glen Johnson (don't mind him going back to Chelsea, too offensive-minded for a defender and makes too many stupid fouls) and Gary O'Neil (very pedestrian, doesn't make many mistakes but doesn't create or finish many great chances either), so maybe you shouldn't listen to me. :p

Glen johnson tries hard but if he thinks he will make it at chelsea he is deluded, been good to have him here but thanks and no thanks.
Now gary is a different matter,to me he is Pompey and i could not think of the team without him.

I would agree...Gary is a part of the team. I'm not too upset about the Johnson deal as well, although he has played his part... doubt he'll get much pt with chelsea as well

Just read in a major Croatian daily (vecernji List) that Niko's lawyer said that Kranjcar's contract will be up June 1st and he'll probably leave for Spain or France because he's not getting any playing time. Portsmouth would still have a chance to re-sign him but the lawyer is adamant that Niko will be gone.
There were stories like this surrounding Niko in the past when he played for Hajduk in Croatia and they led nowhere but this does sound somewhat legit.

Doesn't look like Harry is too keen on letting him go..... Davis is another story.

Personally i would like to see him stay, have a full pre season to get full fitness and up to speed and then i think we would have a great player.

Rumors are that Davis will be sold in the summer to make additional money for the transfer kitty.

So would your preferred CM be Niko and Mendes, with Mvuemba off the bench? Or would you consider purchasing another DM (Muntari?)

I heard today that Muntari was a done deal already..we shall see.

Niko, Pedro, Gary O'neil plus one other to be my midfield next year for me.

that other midfeilder would be in the Joey Barton mould. strong, aggressive, authoritative, neat passing and eye for goal.
Wouldn't mind one in the Benayoun mould either.:p

Pompey should do everything possible to keep Kranjcar (we should have forked out the cash for Fernandes but that's another story). Apart from Mendes, Krancjar is the only creative player we've got. As some people have already metioned, Gary O'Neil ain't the great player people have made him out to be; he works hard but he's not a great passer, dribbler, tackler or goal-scorer. He's just an above average box-to-box midfielder (who we use on the right for some reason). If somebody offered over £5m for him I'd take it, especially now that we've got Muntari who can play wide or centre. I'd take £8m for Taylor as well; good player but Niko's got genuine class.

Wow, you're rating Kranjcar ahead a Taylor? Taylor PRODUCES. Kranjcar is pretty much still 90% potential, and potential doesn't always pan out. Matt's Pompey's 2nd leading scorer last year despite occasionally being pushed back into defense, and more importantly (for a team this age), he got even deadlier as the year wore on.

Honestly, I don't think there's a single player on this team (haven't seen Muntari play yet) I would be more reluctant to sell than Taylor.
